Born To Be

Born To Be

We can all be blessed with a smooth, svelte figure in SL if we desire and these new Tini Kini’s from Drift are just perfect for showing them off!

There are so many different prints available that you’re bound to find one you like, including pastels and brights, retro knit, international flags and a wildlife range. Clearly the wildlife collection wins for me!

I didn’t go overboard with my accessories for this coz I’m wearing a bikini and well…less is more right? I was actually looking for a gold belly chain on the marketplace when I came across this one from a little shop called MishMash and for 89Ls I couldn’t pass it up!

Before you think it, yea I know this hair from Exile is a couple of months old now, but it was just way too good of a match not to use it for this pic!

Would Like To Meet

Would Like To Meet

Sometimes I want to do a blog post coz I’m in the mood to edit a picture, but I’m feeling too lazy to set anything up. I felt like that today and since I just spruced up my living room with some new Loft pieces I figured I’d take a snap of that, then spend some time editing. However, the picture really didn’t need that much and aside from brightening and cropping it, this is pretty much a raw shot. Hope you like!

After Hours

There has been a huge amount of amazing releases the last few days, and more still to come over this weekend. It’s fair to say that my L balance has taken a dramatic hit and will continue to do so for the next week, while my inventory is piling up with things to blog!

I put together a couple of my faves from this round of FaMESHed that started today, as well as this skirt that was recently released from Emery. I have to tell you ladies, this skirt makes your ass look amazing! You have to demo it to believe it! I really like this hair style from Exile and it’s non rigged mesh which is good because I had to resize it and reposition it a fair bit. I play with my shape a lot and tweak it here and there, so that could be why, but it’s rare for me to have problems with mesh hair not fitting well, so make sure you demo this too!

More from Vintage Fair

Back to some Vintage Fair releases today, I hope everyone’s been enjoying their shopping there the last few days!

This cute mesh top and skirt are both available from Tulip. The skirt comes in a few different colours, and the top is available in a couple of different prints. Obviously they go together really well so not much effort on the styling on my part. If you loved the dress that Tulip released a couple of weeks ago for FLF, well it’s also now available at the fair in lots of different colours!

The necklace I’m wearing is part of a new set from Maxi Gossamer at the fair. It comes with matching earrings and the necklaces are all separate, so you can wear them individually or together like I did. It also comes with a silver version too, so you can mix it up with a lot of outfits or other pieces of your fave jewellery! I love Maxi Gossamer for accessories, so much mesh goodness for such great prices and this set is just another great release from them.

Now let me talk a bit about these shoes. They’re available from SLink at the fair and as we know SLink have some of the finest mesh feet on the grid. The rigged womens bare natural feet are probably the most worn item in my inventory, and now that they have add on shoes for really reasonable prices, I hardly wear anything else these days. But now SLink have released this rigged mesh version of their tip toe feet which are included in with the shoes exclusively at Vintage Fair.

I think it’s pretty safe to assume that when the fair ends, the feet will be available seperately and the shoes too, so that you can just purchase them as add ons. Disclaimer – I don’t know this for sure, but I think it’s going to go that way. Right now the shoes and feet are available in a set for 700Ls. SLink usually charge 600Ls for their feet and the prices of the add on shoes for the flat feet are currently at 300Ls. So again, I’d assume that the heel shoes are going to be anywhere from 300Ls up. That means that by buying this set together, you should be saving at least 200Ls! Not only that but the feet can be worn by themselves and the shoes are just far too cute to pass up!

That’s all the items I’m wearing from the fair, the bag is by Glow Studio and is currently available at this round of TDR Blue for cheap!

Don’t forget that August’s C88 opens tomorrow, I get so excited the day before but I must now go do the necessary inventory cleaning to prepare for that!

LOTD & Exile at Hair Fair

This is my LOTD and another new release from Hair Fair! This one is from Exile and again it’s mesh but with these decorative feathers as an optional attachment to wear with it. As usual I’m doing my ❤ thing for the natural looks. Here’s a direct SLURL to Exile at the fair which is located on the Sand sim.

Also new in this picture is the sweater from Toki Doki. It’s so comfortable looking with it’s chunky knit texture and is the perfect type of sweater that I’d just want to curl up in of an evening.

Hope you enjoy my little festival-goer look and are counting the hours till Hair Fair officially opens! Don’t forget to join the demo update group in world as well as the Flickr group!

One Voice Love

I’ve never owned a Curio skin. But before the Curio brand, Gala sold skins just as “Gala”. I checked my inventory today and I have 13 of those Gala skins from back in early ’07, including TWO demos! That really made me laugh, don’t ask me why I have skins and DEMOS from ’07, I honestly couldn’t tell you. I’m clearly much more like this woman than I realised. Especially as I didn’t even delete them after I found them!

Despite the fact that I’ve never owned a Curio skin, I’m still actively supporting this event and while it’s great that so many designers have contributed items with the profits going toward Gala’s legal fees, that is just a bonus. The important part of this whole thing is that so many people have stood up, and worked together and created something that is not only going to help Gala but the community as a whole.

I was talking about the fundraiser to a friend this morning, she said “it’s reminded me why I play Second Life” and she’s right.

I should let you know as well that the One Voice event has been extended to run until the 22nd of July. So don’t worry if you haven’t managed to get access yet, thanks to the generosity of Eku Zhong (who donated the use of the sim as the venue) you now have extra time to get over there and show some love for Curio!

Monday

Happy Monday! Never thought I’d say that but I feel like I’ve been genuinely spoilt with all the lovely new releases over the weekend so it’s a good start to the week.

I’m a little bit slacking because I am wearing the same top (in a different colour and style) and shoes that I was in my last post, but I honestly love them so much that I’ve been reluctant to take them off, so instead I just styled them with some of the new releases from July’s round of FaMESHed.

But the main thing I wanted to talk about in this post is the Animare pose HUD. It’s been around for a while so this is mostly info for anyone who hasn’t heard of it before or is new to taking pics in SL. This is a nifty little dealio that allows you to alter existing poses or create poses/anims in world. Now admittedly I’ve never used it for creating a pose or animation from scratch, there are several softwares that are easier for that but this is great if you just want to adjust a pose you have already. You know how frustrating it is when you find a pose you love but it’s not quite fitted for your shape, you might have a hand poking in your butt or a prop you want to use going through other body parts…well fret no more about that because this is where Animare is perfect.

Here’s a couple of raw shots from SL with the exact same pose, one before I used Animare to adjust it and one after. You can see that I did change the upper part of this pose quite dramatically and this is the first time that I’ve used Animare for such a big change, but I was happy with the results so I thought I’d share. I moved my left arm out a bit so that the bag wasn’t cutting through my leg, I changed my right hand so that the coffee cup that had completely disappeared into my leg was up and in front of me and I lifted my chin so that my head didn’t dip.

The HUD itself is quite simple to use, you click the body joint that you want to change and then turn it up and down for back/forth etc, but this will require a little bit of playing around with until you get the hang of what moves what, although that is a small price to pay and I think it’s definitely worth it to create that perfect picture.

Hope you all enjoy your week!
