Spring Showers

Look at me, two posts in one day! I needed to make up for my absence so I figured why not.

I love days like this, where it’s warm outside but it starts to rain, I call this “sexy rain” when you can umm, sit, outside on your balcony in your summer clothes and just you know….listen to the rain fall.

Anyway, I mixed up a bunch of new releases for this outfit. The top is actually the new dress from Drift, but I decided to wear it as more of a sweater with the new jeans from Tutti Frutti. I love the soft knit texture on the dress, it’s perfect for spring days, and the cloud texture for the jeans is just that little bit different to make them stand out.

I added the new Isis Solar Magic necklace from Maxi Gossamer that was released at Collabor88 today. I’m absolutely in love with it, the design is so unique and it has lots of colour change options as well as coming in both gold and silver. The umbrella I picked up at C88 too, which was one of Yummy’s offerings for this round. The little neck scarf I’m wearing is from Baiastice and you can find it FaMESHed, it’s a great little accessory that you can mix and match with lots of outfits.

Yes, I’m still wearing the new Scarlet hair from Lelutka that was in my post earlier today coz well, I really like it!

Layers I Love

With more and more great mesh releases hitting the grid I have to admit that I am turning in to a little bit of a mesh snob. I don’t really like to spend money on certain clothes or furniture if it’s not mesh, because I just don’t think it’s a worth while investment and if I did, it would have to be for something exceptional.

Having said that, there are still some texture layer clothing items that I will buy on a regular basis. Lingerie and tops to layer under mesh clothing, and leggings. I love leggings. They are probably the only item that I fatpack regularly in SL.

Leggings really are a staple item for me. There are plenty of great mesh leggings around, but if you want to layer them under a mesh dress or top, then kicking it old school with some clothing layer leggings is the way to go. A pair of leggings can completely change an entire outfit.

Some of my favourite places for leggings include League, Teefy, Kyoot and G Field and now Tutti Frutti have released a great mix of them too! I’ve only shown 4 in the picture above but there were a total of 15 different prints released so make sure you check them out!

Just a quick LOTD before bed time!

In real life I love leopard print. Some people think it’s gaudy and tacky but I think it’s FUN, in the same way I love to see hawaiian shirts on a guy. I blame my parents entirely for this. Granted I wouldn’t have the guts to walk outside in a pair of leopard print leggings, but I do like accessories, maybe a scarf or a bag, and shoes! Oh yes, I do have leopard print shoes. But in SL none of that matters and so I was over the moon when Tutti Fruitti released these leopard print, mesh, skinny jeans for My Attic! There are several different prints available but these were my faves.

I’m also wearing a new mesh style from Truth that I adore, coz it has a braid and we know I can’t get enough of those. I love that it’s kind of a mix of an updo as well, so you could dress it up or down, definitely one that I’ll be wearing a lot!

OMGAH! Vintage Fair 2012 opens tomorrow!

OMGAH! Can you see how excited I am?!

There are so many wonderful items on offer at Vintage Fair this year, and I’ve only managed to show a few bits and pieces, it’s really a must to go visit for anyone who loves a bit of retail therapy!

Don’t forget you can find your map and SLURLS on Chic’s website here but the layout is so well planned that you can just start at one end and walk all around the cobble lined streets popping in and out of stores. There are 3 full sims so there is plenty of chance for people to get entry, I know there’s always a problem with that the first couple of days on a one sim event, so this will be easier. If you can’t get in the first couple of times just persevere!

Sasy Scarborough has some great advice here on how to have as little lag as possible when attending events. It’s really worth while reading and the bit about not wearing prims? It really helps. I personally do a lot of my regular shopping in system layer clothes now, if it’s a serious session and I know I’m going to be demo-ing a lot of mesh, it just makes sense!

In my excitable picture I’m wearing the Jubilee necklace which is available from Ingenue at the fair. It’s mesh and super cute! Also this mesh ruffled top which I <33 is a new release from Tutti Frutti that you can find there.

My hair is one of Truth’s newest releases, I love the fun quirky style and it comes with a HUD so that you can change the bow colour to match your outfits, perfect!

Since I found myself with some time on my hands this afternoon, I thought I’d bring you another little look.

When I came back from my couple of weeks off, I looked around for stuff that had been released while I was gone but I have to say, shopping as a catch up is no where near as fun as seeing the release pictures on Flickr then dashing off to buy it. But luckily, as I mentioned before, the fantabulous (yes, it’s a word now) creators on the grid spoilt us the past few days and there were a flurry of great releases to pick from.

So here’s some more!

First of all this vest style cardigan is the new group gift from Toki Doki. It’s available to buy in several colours but this one is for free to group members. If you’re not a member of the Toki Doki update group, I’d highly recommend it. There is a 150L joining fee but the group gifts are changed a lot, like every couple of weeks or so, so joining the group is definitely good value for money.

I’m also wearing these new mesh bermuda shorts from Tutti Frutti. I can pretty much see myself wearing these to death over the summer as they’re one of those perfect casuals that you can relax in or dress up if needed.

My last new item in this post is the Milano Cats Eye sunglasses from Maxi Gossamer. These are available at FaMESHed and come i a few versions. There’s the regular glasses, one pair to sit on your head and the ones to hang around your neck which come with 3 different chain styles. The lens and frame are also texture change so you can play around and match them to any outfit!

Play Time

It’s hump day, hooray! So I’m celebrating with a bit of play time. This was meant to be a nice, fun pic but I’m getting tired and got a bit mad in Photoshop and now I think I made my skin tone look like one of the undead, that’s what I get for trying to make pictures at 3am! I tried to fix it, honest, but I’m just too sleepy/lazy!

These cute kite poses are by Lisp and were available at the Shindig round of C88 which ends in a few days, so if you haven’t got them already here’s you’re reminder so you don’t miss out!

Also more new mesh releases. First of all these cute, fun jeans from Tutti Frutti which come in a wide range of bold, bright colours, perfect for a summer wardrobe and pretty much an essential. Then there’s this gorgeous off the shoulder sweater from Mon Tissu which is available in so many yummy colours that you might wanna fatpack them if you haven’t already.

Swing Your Pants

Trev and Simon say “swing your pants!” Well I guess you won’t get that unless you’re from the UK but it made me laugh anyway. I absolutely love these pants from Tutti Frutti (available at Culture Shock…I told you I had too much stuff from there!) they just scream fun to me. You can easily dress them up or down, but I have a tendency to dress things down because I just love to be casual, and they come in a vast array of prints and colours.

The mesh tank is also available at Culture Shock by e! (Eclectic Apparel) and is a definite must have with it’s sexy cleavage, who doesn’t love a tank top.

I’ll just mention the background briefly here, because it’s a fab new mesh house from Scarlet Creative and only 47 prims!!!! It’s our 5th house in 7 weeks! Now anyone who knows me knows that I lived a very sheltered SL up until a few months ago, where all I did was role play for pretty much 5 years and it’s only been within these last 4 months or so that I’ve started to venture out into “mainstream” SL. But 5 houses in 7 weeks? I’m pretty sure that’s not normal. I blame the man. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to feature this house in a couple more posts, because it’s really a fantastic build, so long as he doesn’t make me switch again!

Shades of Summer from Culture Shock

Back to Culture Shock! Even after my mammoth shop there a couple of days ago, I’ve found myself back every day since picking up other bits that I might have not noticed before. I think I was incredibly disorganised the other day and just bought without even thinking about what would go together, and now I’m paying the price! Not that going back is any great hardship of course…except to my L balance.

This top I’m wearing is from Tutti Frutti, by Bela Tolsen, which is a new store to me. I’ve seen similar styles like this top on the grid recently but none that fit me quite as well as this one did, so I was thrilled about that.The necklace is from Je Suis and is also available at Culture Shock. I love the fact that it’s colour change for both the stone and chain, so you can mix and match it with just about any outfit.

The pose is another of my latest splurges purchases. It’s from the Glitterati “Bitch” set that is available exclusively at Culture Shock right now.

G Field are also giving away a pair of their Alex Strap Shoes in patent yellow for free at the event which go nicely with this outfit…unfortunately you can’t see them here, but definitely worth picking a pair up.

Maybe tomorrow will be the first day that I haven’t gone back to Culture Shock this week, but I can’t promise anything!
