New from LaRoo!

Last week I blogged about the new mesh footwear store LaRoo that would be opening soon. They were due to open on the 7th but some setbacks saw that date delayed, but now, they’re finally open! You can find LaRoo on the Fresco sim, located opposite FaMESHed. I went over and checked it out and it’s a lovely mesh build, great for taking pictures.

LaRoo have 2 new items out for their opening and my favourites are these Clyde boots. They come in lots of different colours and the studs give them that extra something. They’re non rigged mesh so you can resize as needed. The only thing I’d have liked is if they came with both gold and silver studs, since I pretty much always pick gold over silver, but I can’t have it all so I just wore them in gold instead!

I’m also wearing this new mesh top from The Secret Store at C88. It’s so pretty and well made and the gold accents easily make it a new favourite for me. At only 88Ls I’m definitely gonna be going back for 2nds, and 3rds and ok, maybe I’ll just get all the colours!

Just Peachy

I got a mix of some old and new stuff today!

First this new hair from D!va. It’s a kind of hybrid hair with the bottom section made of mesh while the main part is just like regular hair. I have to admit that the few hairs that have been released that are a mix like that are ones that I like. Because you can get the nice wispy textures to frame your face without having giant alphas around them, which is a pain for taking photos. This hair is super cute and definitely worth demoing!

I’m also wearing the new cardigan that was released by Belgravia a couple of days ago. I loooove cardigans – seriously can’t get enough of them and being able to layer things -even though it’s a nuisance and often impossible to layer mesh on mesh. There are still lots of pretty texture layer items to go with mesh outerwear though, like this top from Tres Blah.

The necklace is from Glow Studio and I think has a couple of days left on offer at TDR, so make sure you snatch it up! I buy a lot of my accessories from events like TDR or C88, even if I don’t have anything in mind for it at the time they’re always a good buy “just in case”.

If you read my blog a lot then you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of C88. So when they announced a few weeks ago that they were holding a competition to find a new blogger I couldn’t resist entering. Plus I’ve decided that I quite like competitions because they really push me to try out new things and be more creative. Oh and I just wanted to say…these bird cages I used? I’m so in love with them. They’re by Cheeky Pea and are at this months C88, not only are they fantastically detailed mesh but also they’re only one, yes ONE land impact each! Monday Morning

I love cardigans. Give me a couple of new cardigans every week and I’ll be the happiest girl on the planet. So when Milk Motion released this classic cardigan for C88 I of course snapped it up. The texture is a little blurry, I don’t know if that was just me or not, I relogged a bunch of times and tried rebaking and refreshing texture etc but it was still the same. This doesn’t put me off loving it though, a nicely styled mesh cardigan will always make my day and this is another one for me to add to my “go to” list.

Another new C88 release is this necklace from Maxi Gossamer. I’ve got a thing about long necklaces lately, this one comes in 3 lengths and right away I put the long version on, but I love that Maxi usually gives a couple of different options for you.

Also, I’m so into this new mesh release from Truth! The casual, wavy style is just yum on toast as far as I’m concerned and this is something I don’t wanna take off for a while.

Finally, if you like this background in the picture then you have to check out the Four Walls hunt! You can find more info on their blog here including all the SLURLs and hints to the stores, but basically it’s a hunt around a bunch of furniture stores and each item costs 10Ls. There’s a bunch of great items on this hunt and this picture was taken in one of my favourites which was the hunt gift from L&K Prefabs. The hunt ends on the 15th of September so only a few more days to get out and grab these items!

Real life has been keeping me busy at weekends lately, but it’s a nice treat to get in world at the start of the week and find some new releases that were out while I was gone.

These boots are the new release from Leverocci and I love them. They’re the kind of thing you could wear with almost any outfit to add instant sexiness and I’m never gonna complain about a bit of help in that department! So these boots were my favourite of the Leverocci releases, but they also introduced a sub brand called Belgravia which you really should check out, they have the most gorgeous mesh fur (relax people, it’s only pixels) coat which I think will find it’s way in to my inventory very shortly.

Anyway I put together the boots with some other pieces that are recent (not new) but that I hadn’t gotten around to blogging yet. I’ve been wearing this mesh tank from Emery to death over the last couple of weeks or so, along with the Melinda mesh necklace from Korundi and I love the leather leggings that Tres Blah released for C88. I resisted buying mesh leather pants until these were released, but then I’m always a sucker for Tres Blah stuff.

The hairband is by LaGyo and you can find it at the latest round of TDR, it’s scripted to colour change like most LaGyo items these days, so easy to pair it up with outfits. Also love this mesh hair from Lamb! The messy, natural look is totally my thing and it’s made a nice change from all the updos I’ve been wearing lately.

I’ll try not to be so slack with my postings again, but look, I did redo the look of my blog yesterday! Hope you like it, I do!

Simplicity

There’s no special styling going on in this picture, no special Photoshop effects. It’s just a simple shot that I took while I was experimenting with mirror water and I thought I’d share.

I’ve seen some great pictures on Flickr from talented residents using this mirror water effect and I thought I’d try it out. A friend directed me to this site where Zonja Capalini gives a very simple guide on how to create the effect in world.

I didn’t exactly try hard to put this look together, since both the mesh top and skirt are from Tres Blah at July’s C88 and it’s pretty obvious how well they go together, it’s really a no brainer. But I love the fact that they were sold separately rather than as one piece because they are so perfect to mix and match with other items as well.

This hair is one of the new releases from Elikatira at Hair Fair. You can find them located on the Sand sim and here’s the direct SLURL. I have said many times that I love the mesh hair from Elikatira and this simple style is no different. I love the textures and the fact that I can buy an essentials pack of several different colours for little more than the cost of a normal colour package, and for me, I think that the rigging is some of the best for hair on the grid.

Also <3 the mesh flip flop add ones from SLink! I’ve been waiting a couple of months for someone to release these and I’m so glad they’re here. I love the fact that they are add ons too, so you don’t have to pay a large sum of money just because they come with mesh feet. They also come in men’s sizes which is great because as we know the guys are not as well catered for as women in the fashion department.

Just Like Me

Here’s another little LOTD for you that I put together with the new bits out at July’s round of C88 and a recent release from Toki Doki.

I wore this hair in a recent post but it’s just so cute that I haven’t taken it off for a few days now. I have to admit I’d never bought a D!va hair until they came to C88, but I’ve loved both the latest styles they released. The textures have a messy fly away look that not many in SL do and it gives them a unique natural look and as we know I love natural.

This necklace from LaGyo at C88 is a fantastic accessory. After the release of their Alice necklace at Fairytales I didn’t think I’d find another necklace so quickly that I couldn’t take off, but LaGyo proved me wrong with this one. It has texture change stones and flowers so you can match it to just about any outfit.

Also new is this Eri skirt from Toki Doki. It’s mesh and comes in a wide variety of colours and a few different patterns too. I’m really enjoying the Toki Doki mesh range and their prices are really reasonable. I mentioned before that it was worth joining their update group for a small fee which is now 250Ls. This is still well worth the investment! Group gifts are rotated very regularly (usually every 2-3 weeks from what I’ve noticed) and it’s usually one of their recent releases in aa unreleased colour. Also do check out the weekend specials at Toki Doki as again it’s usually one of the recent releases but in an unreleased colour and sold for a discount price.

Oh and a quick mention, have you been to Leverocci’s anniversary sale yet? Up to 75% off most items! I picked these shoes up there recently plus a whole bunch of other stuff for really cheap, definitely worth a visit!

Maternity SLipster Style

A month or so ago I had been on the verge of packing away the majority of my non mesh clothing items, but I’m so glad I didn’t because recycling has become my thing since we started playing pregnant. So I’m not showing any new releases here, but rather an outfit that is suitable to wear if you’re carrying a bump around like I am.

I’ve decided that any posts I make while I’ve got the bump will be outfits that can be worn with or without it (unless someone brings out a fantabulous maternity mesh line in the next couple of weeks), because not only can I not wear most mesh items but I can’t even really wear anything that has prim parts around the stomach either, so it’s not easy to look up to date with this shape.

However! My recycling is working and even though it takes me three times as long to put an outfit together (unless I’m wearing those freebie Jane tanks haha) I think today I managed to pull it off. So this is me in an old Tres Blah dress, it does have a prim attachment but this sits nicely just above the bump with a tiny bit of editing. I know from this picture at the top you can’t even notice the bump, so here’s another view just to prove I’ve got a fat belly!

Well that’s me for today, I won’t bore you all with my maternity woes every time I post don’t worry, but since I noticed that pretty much no one else does any maternity related posts I thought it would be a nice change now and then…but believe me, I’m counting the days to the due date because I can’t wait to get my hands on some new mesh!

Baby Bump and Mesh!

Since I posted last week with the baby bump and being unable to wear mesh, I kind of made it my mission to find some that I could wear. I know there are a few maternity mesh outfits on the marketplace but I wanted something that I could wear when I’m without the belly too.

So I was making an attempt to organise my inventory the other day and….woah, what’s this! It’s the ISON Draped Crop Tee that I picked up at Culture Shock and completely forgot all about! (that’s not uncommon for me, sadly). So I threw it on all excited and yay, it fit! The tee hangs perfectly over my bump and this is definitely something that I’d wear normally anyway.

Obviously I have to wear a tank under it because when you stretch your stomach on the avie mesh like that…the stomach muscles that were so nicely shaded by the skin creators? Yea, doesn’t look so good when you’re hefting a size 46 belly around. So again, Jane’s freebie tanks came to the rescue, although I’ve told myself I really, really must find something else to wear instead of them, because seriously, it’s been every day for about 2 weeks.

I haven’t mentioned this hair before either, even though it was released last week I think, but it’s one of Elikatira’s latest and I love it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Elikatira is possibly my favourite mesh hair right now. I love the colour tones she provides, the rigging on the mesh is great and of course the styles are always fresh and yummy. Oh! And I love the Essentials pack she does! Two of each colour, blondes, browns, reds one black and one white. I used to always buy brunette hairs because continuity was important in the role play I did, but now that I’m no longer active there I can switch it up and while I tend to still go for brunette shades the majority of the time, the Essentials pack gives me a chance to pick and choose what colour I want to have that day for a fraction of the cost of a full colour set. The mixed Essentials pack is only 280Ls whereas individual colour packs are 250Ls. That was a smart move because now I’m gonna spend that little bit extra every time, instead of just getting my regular brown and sticking with it. Win win for everyone!
