And She Walked

I was so excited on Friday when there was a notice in the Toki Doki group that Maya was back and had released her first item which is this super cute Haru jacket. I love Maya’s unique designs and textures so I’m looking forward to more releases from her this season. There is also a plain mint version of this jacket available for group members (small joining fee, it was something like 150Ls when I joined – may or may not have increased) and I always recommend this group to people as Toki Doki are usually very generous with group gifts being given often.

I adore this hairstyle from Boon, I’m not quite sure if I’ll actually wear it around but it’s great for pictures and a unique look. The Amande hair piece from LaGyo fits it perfectly too. I’m also wearing this new feather necklace from Sweet Leonard which I looove! It comes with matching earrings and is available in both and silver.

SL DisneyBound – Week 1 – Peter Pan

There were so many events last week that today when I felt like I wanted to blog something but didn’t want to spend any money I was in a quandry. Sure, my “to blog” folder has a ton of stuff in it, but nothing that inspired me much to put a complete outfit together. I was talking to my ol’ buddy Harper and she reminded me about the new challenge that we’d both already decided we had to do. I wailed a bit that I didn’t have anything green to put a Peter Pan look together and that would mean that I’d have to go out and buy something, but she told me to just type green in my inventory search. So I started to do that, still complaining that I knew for a fact that I didn’t have any pants/shorts/skirts in green…and then, well it turns out that I did.

So this was a bit of a double challenge for me, I put this whole look together with things I already had in my inventory and had forgotten about. The only new item is this Teddy hair from Truth that was released a couple of days ago and I hadn’t blogged yet, but it was pretty damn perfect!

Anyway, this turned out to be a lot of fun and I’ll definitely be taking part again, not sure if I’ll do it weekly but at some point I will!

By the time I actually post this it will more than likely be just after midnight on Thursday for me, but let’s just pretend it’s still Wednesday, k? K.

I’ve got a few recent releases here that I wanted to share. Most were released over the last couple of weeks and I kept an eye on them till I found the whole outfit that I wanted to put together.

First I’ve got the new military jacket that was released by Chemistry. Lots of colours available and you get a couple of different styles with each. I’m wearing the hip length, collared version but you also get a longer length and both of those without the collar too. I love that Chemistry tends to give these options with their clothes as you feel like you’re getting real value for money. At only 250Ls this is one of the best buys for jackets that I’ve seen lately.

The loose fit denim shorts are a new mesh release from Gizza. They have a lovely little leather belt detail and the shorts are cut so that the pockets hang a little lower than the denim, making them that little bit different from others that are available elsewhere. These will be a great addition to your virtual wardrobe for not only this season, when you can pair them with tights or leggings, but the upcoming warming ones too!

The mesh top I’m wearing under the jacket is the city shirt from Drift. I won’t say that this was easy to layer with the coat, because it wasn’t. I wore the L in the coat and the XS in the top but still in certain poses some of the shirt would poke through on the arms, which was a bit annoying and I confess that I fixed it a bit in photoshop! It’s definitely doable but the fit won’t be perfect if you want to wear that shirt with the jacket – make sure you demo them together before you buy if that’s what you want to do, so that you won’t be disappointed!

I am so in love with this Lavinia hairstyle that Truth released over the weekend. Braids are mah thang yo, and this do is so cute without making me look like I’m trying to impersonate a teen. Really love, love!

I was hoping to get a lot of blogging done this week, as it’ll be my last chance to get a lot out there before the holidays, but my computer decided on Sunday night that it wanted to go and get itself corrupted and then not work, so I lost basically everything and had to start again, which was very annoying and also means I won’t get as much done as I wanted this week, so sorry about that

Anyyyyway, I got some new stuff to show ya that was released over the last few days! First of all this hair from Truth. A yummy, messy up do that’s just perfect for pictures coz you get to add some wispy bits (creative license, a lot of it was already there but I did add a few just for the hell of it) and it’s also a great fit for the Auxillary hair bow that you can get from The Arcade!

C88 opened their new round on the weekend and I’m so in love with this lace top from Nylon Outfitters. The texturing is really well done and it’s nice to have something new to layer under mesh. It does come with a bra too if you don’t feel like being risque! Also from C88 is the necklace I’m wearing by Maxi Gossamer. The detail and mesh is the usual high standard you’d expect from MG and it comes in both long and short versions as well as in both gold and silver. I love that MG nearly always gives these options coz I have a penchant for long necklaces and it makes me sad face if a necklace I love only comes short.

TDR also kicked off their new TDR Fusion this weekend and there is SO much good stuff available! This belt is from LaGyo and comes in a couple of colours, it’s non rigged mesh so easy to adjust. SLink also put out a fab item – their new Vanity mesh boots. I was wearing them in this pic (which is the reason I’m not wearing mesh jeans, coz I wanted the tucked in look) but I’ll be honest, the picture just looked better cropped so they got cut off. I wanted to mention them though because I’m sure they’ll make appearances here and at only 70L while they’re at TDR Fusion you simply must go and check them out before they’re at full price in the store!

The location I took this picture at was the MadPea Carneval. I’ve never been there before but a friend TP’d me and it was pretty cool so I knew I had to snap something there. I’m sure there’ll be more at some point as well so it’s definitely worth checking out if you wanna play on some rides or take some cool photos.

So that’s me for this hump day, I’m gonna be trying to get a couple more posts done this week but with holidays and all it’s starting to get a bit manic!

Time is Ticking

Disclaimer: This blog title has absolutely nothing to do with the picture and everything to do with the fact that I am sooooo short on time today, but damn so much to write about!

First of all I’ll start by saying that when my friend Harper saw me wearing the outfit I blogged yesterday, she called me a….actually I can’t say what she called me because I wanna get this post on to iheartsl.com which is now SFW! If you didn’t know now you do, anyone who was listed to feed must reapply and you can find some info on the SFW guidelines and what to do if your blog has mixed content here on Cajsa’s blog.

So after that incident I decided to go a little cuter today. This mesh hair from Truth was perfect for the look along with the new Granny’s Pearl necklace from LaGyo which you can get from TDR along with matching earrings and both are scripted to texture change.

I’m also wearing another recent release from Emery which is this mesh blazer that comes in a range of different colours. Obviously I went for the natural, nude looking colour because I’m boring like that. The jeans I’m wearing were recent from The Secret Store and they’re pretty amazing. I had a high waist system pair from Imbue that I used to wear a LOT, so I was really happy to be able to get a pair in mesh.

The picture was taken at Neva Dunes, which is the home of Neva Crystall and has been opened to the public for a few days. I believe it’s open until the 4th so make sure you pop over and visit and get your photo ops while you can! I’m a huge fan of Neva’s and it’s great to be able to look around and see her work, I find it really inspirational too. Like now I need to go buy a new house! Oh last thing, I’ve also started to link all my pictures directly to my Flickr, so if you want to see the picture in better quality just click on the pic and open the link, I have to make them smaller so that I don’t mess up any feeds and so the quality is not always what they should be. I’m sure there’s a way to fix this, but I don’t know how – I am really blonde in RL.

Just a quick LOTD before bed time!

In real life I love leopard print. Some people think it’s gaudy and tacky but I think it’s FUN, in the same way I love to see hawaiian shirts on a guy. I blame my parents entirely for this. Granted I wouldn’t have the guts to walk outside in a pair of leopard print leggings, but I do like accessories, maybe a scarf or a bag, and shoes! Oh yes, I do have leopard print shoes. But in SL none of that matters and so I was over the moon when Tutti Fruitti released these leopard print, mesh, skinny jeans for My Attic! There are several different prints available but these were my faves.

I’m also wearing a new mesh style from Truth that I adore, coz it has a braid and we know I can’t get enough of those. I love that it’s kind of a mix of an updo as well, so you could dress it up or down, definitely one that I’ll be wearing a lot!

Some Days

Some days, you don’t want to get up. You don’t want to get up, or get dressed, or fix your hair. But you force yourself to at least put on those comfy pants and that oversized cardigan and pull your hair back into some semblance of a style and you sit. You sit and wish that the world would stop turning and it feels like it should, because how can you go on after this? If it would all just stop, then it wouldn’t have happened and you wouldn’t have to face it. But it doesn’t, it has and you do.

I was wearing most of this outfit for a few days, partly because it was system layers and I wanted to be in those for demoing at Vintage Fair but mostly because I just felt like it. Then Toki Doki released this Apathetic Cardigan and it was just perfect to go with. I love the cable knit texture and the colours it’s available in are all soft and comfortable. I don’t know if you can describe a colour as comfortable but I just did. This cardigan is a must buy for those every day looks.

On a side note, I believe that the Toki Doki group is now back open for people to join. There is a 250L joining fee but Maya has already put out a group gift a couple of days ago. If you’re not in it, make sure you join so that you don’t miss out!

Maybe tomorrow I’ll feel like getting dressed.

Vintage Fair 2012: Preview 2

More new stuff from Vintage Fair, yay!

This super cute mesh outfit is from DDL, it comes in 4 soft colours (green as shown, pink, blue and beige) and is only 200Ls! I feel a bit like the quiet little librarian who when she gets home, shakes out her hair and takes off her…to reveal…you know what I mean, we’ve all seen those movies!

I’ve paired it with another new release from ChaChaDee! This time 70s style heels which come in lots of shades and with a really well made reptile or leather texture.

Finally this pose is by Adorkable as part of the GoGo set. I love their poses because they’re always that little bit different from your standard ones and Adorkable have LOTS of great poses released for the fair, I’ll definitely try to show a few more of those.

New @ Toki Doki

While they’re celebrating their second birthday Toki Doki released this super cute Carol dress. It’s mesh and available in several bright summery colours all with the retro floral print detail and a similar back to their recently released Mari top.

The birthday sales are still going on, with Maya reducing several of her items every day by 75%. I picked up this cute bag in the sale today and the mesh boots were on sale yesterday, although when I was there a few hours ago they were still on sale so you might get lucky if you didn’t get them already!

The group gifts that have been put out every day have also been fabulous but just a reminder that these are for current group members only. Every day I’ve gone to the store I see people trying to join, but Maya made the decision to close the group for a few days while these gifts are out, as a way of rewarding her existing group members. So if you’re not in the group make sure you join it as soon as it’s reopened so that you don’t miss out on any future sales! Everyone else can still take advantage of the great discounts she has on offer though, so make sure you get over there every day and see what bargains you can snap up!

The hair that I’m wearing is a mesh release from Wasabi Pills at Hair Fair, don’t forget this closes today so make sure you’ve visited and grabbed everything you want, and also pick up those bandanas and help contribute to Wigs for Kids!

Also I’m in love with this BonBon headband from LaGyo which is currently available at the latest round of The Dressing Room. A few weeks ago LaGyo released a BonBon ring at The Dressing Room too and I have to admit to being guilty of wearing it almost every day since, so this matching headband (with colour change stones)  might not be removed for a while!

I’m glad I wore this outfit today, I was feeling a bit blue with the weekend almost being over but the colours cheered me up and then I remembered that a new round of FaMESHed starts in a couple of days, as well as Vintage Fair! So really lots to look forward to this week.

Toki Doki 2nd Anniversary – LOTD

Toki Doki is celebrating their 2nd anniversary with a bang! First of all Maya redesigned her store, so now it has a fab new mesh build with lots of extra space. She has also planned another 3 parts to her celebrations and here they are taken from her notecard that was sent out in the group.

1. Every day there will be brand new exclusive group gifts, these gifts will not be given out past the event, please try to pick them up before Monday July 30th, at 11:59 PM SLT. A group notice will be sent when a new gift has been rezzed at the store, please wear your group tag.

2. Every day, 5 different items (all colours included) will be marked 75% off. You will have to find them though no special marks, no hints, can be any items in the store look carefully! ^^ (Mayallivanders items are excluded).

3. There is a particular section in the store where everything is sold for 2 or 0 lindens! Please look around and try to find it, it is really easy

Uh, wow! It’s only the 2nd day of the anniversary specials and I have already picked up so much awesome stuff.  This mesh dress that I’m wearing is the 2nd day group gift and comes in 2 exclusive, previously unreleased colours. The scarf I got for 2Ls in the super cheapy section and the bag and boots have 75% off today!

The one thing I will mention is that the group is now currently closed for a few days so only existing members will be able to claim the group gifts. But everyone else should still get down there daily and check out the specials, and make sure you join the group as soon as you can so that you don’t miss out in future! In my opinion Maya is one of the most generous designers to her group members and this will be the 3rd time I say it, but joining the group is well worth the small investment.

Couple of other things I wanted to mention. First this hair from Truth. I know a lot of people were disappointed not to see Truth at Hair Fair, but it doesn’t mean the new releases aren’t coming regularly. This one was out last week and you can imagine how much I am <3-ing the casual, cute look. The colour change hair clips give it that extra bit of style.

Also, I’ve talked about Marukin poses before but I think they are worth mentioning again. They’re still currently one of my favourite types of poses and are perfect for LOTD pics that are understated and natural.
