Take Me There

I don’t usually log on weekends but I had some time today and I decided to play with this pic that I’d procrastinated from blogging during the week.

I love this new skirt from Baiastice that was released for The Boutique. It comes in lots of different prints and colours, mostly floral which are fab for spring and also this brown suede effect, as well as a teal version. The suede texture is really detailed and it was so easy to build a look around this skirt.

The shirt and waistcoat are both recent releases from Ison and are easy enough to layer so long as you wear a bigger size waistcoat over the shirt (I’m wearing the M waistcoat and S shirt). The shirt also comes with a colour change HUD so you can get 3 colours for the price of one, which makes it an easy and staple purchase.

I love this hair that LOQ released last week and I’ve been wearing it for days. You can find it at The Dressing Room Fusion, although it is not discounted, but it’s a really relaxed style that is simple to dress up or down.

Soho Boho

I’ve been dressing up pretty fancy in world lately, so today I decided to go back to more a boho style which I always love and was made pretty easy with a lot of the new releases that came out in the last few days.

Truth released this lovely relaxed, mesh style today that really flows and suited the look perfectly. This outfit kinda reminds of something SJP would’ve worn as Carrie in Sex in the City so I decided to go a bit of a dirty blonde today, instead of my normal brunette.

The shoes are the fab new Sparta pumps from LaRoo. These are the first shoes they’ve released that had the open toe and mesh feet, and I’ve got to say that I found the HUD very easy to match up. You can find a pic of the HUD here on their Flickr. Lots of lovely nail options as well as shoe colours available too.

I am so in love with this skirt from Milk Motion. I wasn’t sure when I first saw it at The Dressing Room Fusion last week, but when I tried the demo on it was an instant must have for me. It’s available at TDR Fusion in 3 different colours (green, black and red) and I think it really is very different from most skirts that are available on the grid right now. I’d love to see more in this style.

The off the shoulder cardigan is another great little number that I picked up from TDR, by Ricelli. I love the freedom that mesh has brought us that the designers can now create pieces like this and they fit so easily without all the prim hassle.

I’m wearing Maxi Gossamer’s latest necklace that is out at C88 and the headband available there from The Sea Hole. The head band is a steal at 28Ls so I think I got one in every colour, coz you never know!

I’ve really got my blogging mojo back now after the holidays and I’m just tres excited for more releases and shopping!

If you read my blog a lot then you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of C88. So when they announced a few weeks ago that they were holding a competition to find a new blogger I couldn’t resist entering. Plus I’ve decided that I quite like competitions because they really push me to try out new things and be more creative. Oh and I just wanted to say…these bird cages I used? I’m so in love with them. They’re by Cheeky Pea and are at this months C88, not only are they fantastically detailed mesh but also they’re only one, yes ONE land impact each! It’s safe to say that these will now decorate some part of every house that I ever own from now on. Ever.

Lady In Black

Some more new goodies released just in time for the weekend, yay \o/

I don’t do glam very often, as you probably know if you read this blog regularly but when I popped over to Euphoria for their fornightly Limited Bazaar event, I could not resist this mesh trench coat from Gizza. It’s only 150Ls and comes with a scarf that fits perfectly in with the coat. If you haven’t visited Limited Bazaar before it’s a must. All the items for sale there are limited (hence the name) so you need to snap up this jacket before they sell out!

Another new item is this adorable hair from Truth. It’s non rigged mesh so that means you can modify the shape better to fit, but also that you get the great high def textures that comes with mesh items. It was love at first sight for me and it’s a perfect style that you can wear whether you’re dressing up or down. I know I’m gonna be wearing it all weekend!

I really didn’t lie when I said there was some awesome stuff available at Collabor88 this month. So here’s another little LOTD with items I picked up!

Love this hair from D!va, I’m a big fan of their fly away textures and the natural looking, messy styles they create. Where was this ‘do last week when I was getting my Amy on! It comes in a set with a style A and B, which have slightly different bangs and also a jewelled headband. The band is scripted for colour changing and also has the option of being removed, which I did for this pic.

The dress is by Chantkare and has the baroque texture which was the theme of the round. If you read my blog at all you know I usually wear the M in mesh. I still wore the M for this but I slimmed down considerably as well, not because it didn’t fit but because I thought it looked better. Kind of in a hanging off a coat hanger kind of way. I don’t know if that makes sense but I know what I mean, can you tell I’m not a fashion expert?

Finally I’ve got some of the LaGyo accesories on that were available, as well as these cute knee high baroque stockings from The Sea Hole. The necklace and ring are both colour changing and there is a matching flower headband that you can buy too. Obviously I got everything that LaGyo put out because I can’t get enough of their releases these days!

I’m really loving this round and I still need to make a couple of trips back to pick up some other pieces, so make sure you pay a visit if you haven’t already!

One Voice Love

I’ve never owned a Curio skin. But before the Curio brand, Gala sold skins just as “Gala”. I checked my inventory today and I have 13 of those Gala skins from back in early ’07, including TWO demos! That really made me laugh, don’t ask me why I have skins and DEMOS from ’07, I honestly couldn’t tell you. I’m clearly much more like this woman than I realised. Especially as I didn’t even delete them after I found them!

Despite the fact that I’ve never owned a Curio skin, I’m still actively supporting this event and while it’s great that so many designers have contributed items with the profits going toward Gala’s legal fees, that is just a bonus. The important part of this whole thing is that so many people have stood up, and worked together and created something that is not only going to help Gala but the community as a whole.

I was talking about the fundraiser to a friend this morning, she said “it’s reminded me why I play Second Life” and she’s right.

I should let you know as well that the One Voice event has been extended to run until the 22nd of July. So don’t worry if you haven’t managed to get access yet, thanks to the generosity of Eku Zhong (who donated the use of the sim as the venue) you now have extra time to get over there and show some love for Curio!

Little Miss

Today I’m bringing a mixture of the goodies I picked up from this months C88 and Culture Shock 2012. I think I might be done with both those events in  a week or so…maybe.

I love this cute mesh skirt from U.F.O at C88 this month. It comes in a range of soft colours and I picked up a few of them. The textures are complete prettiness and the fit was good, even though it’s not in standard sizing, there are 7 different sizes instead. The ballet style shoes were also by U.F.O at C88 and I love pair of  flats so those were an easy buy for me.

The mesh scarf I’m wearing is from Mon Tissu at Culture Shock. Again it comes in a wide range of colours and is a perfect accessory. It’s a little awkward to wear with some mesh tops but goes perfectly with the frilled tank (recent Mon Tissu release) that I’m wearing here and you could always revert to a regular layer top with it anyway.

Finally I’m wearing the fab new Kirby mesh hair from Truth, which I think has a bit of a retro look to it that I just love.

Well wow. I feel exhausted after my not-so-little shopping excursion this morning! I think I loaded up my inventory with enough items to blog about for the next month!

I’m sure you’re all aware that Culture Shock opened this weekend. It’s a charity event raising money for Médecins Sans Frontières and this is their second year. For more information and SLurls you can visit the Chic Management site, who are the hosts of the event. Since the location was jam packed on the weekend, it was a bit of a lag festival for me to try and get round, I thought I’d put it off until today…completely forgetting of course that today was the opening of May’s C88. So first thing this morning it was a quick dash to C88 and then off for a couple of hours at Culture Shock.

I have to say I am completely impressed with Culture Shock. It’s a nice, simple layout, not too crowded and really easy to keep track of what you have and haven’t already seen. Plenty of well known and unheard of designers with a lot of promise, lots of fabulous mesh and some lovely free gifts.

C88 was also outstanding this month, but then it usually is and I love the daydream theme they have! I’m not even kidding when I say that I picked up enough items from these two places to blog about for a month, so over the next couple of weeks at least, expect to see bits and pieces popping up!

As for this picture…well frankly I was just so worn out from shopping and demoing that it was a case of anything goes!

Adorable mesh frill shorts from G Field at Culture Shock, amazing mesh hair from Clawtooth at C88 and the bracelet I’m wearing is part of a set from Donna Flora and is in the 70% off sale she is having on some items which will soon be retired, so go get them while you can!
