Pin Up

There have been so many great new releases the last few days it was hard for me to know where to start. So I mixed a bunch of things up for this post!

First of all these new jeans were released by Tulip. There’s two versions, your regular blue and grey shades as well as coloured versions. I’m wearing the blush shade here and I love them! They’re a great staple item for your SL wardrobe.

The Liason Collaborative started a new round of The Boutique today and I can’t tell you how beyond excited I was to see these Spring Fling sandals from LVLE. They come in several summery shades and are made to fit with the SLink bare mesh feet. I love that more creators are starting to make shoes around them and I hope that it opens up the market to other designers who might have great shoe ideas but don’t want the hassle of making the feet too. Especially now that we have the appliers for the SLink feet, just adding a pair of shoes over them is the perfect solution to all my skin matching woes! Anyway I love these sandals and I’ll defintely be sporting them a lot this spring/summer!

Yesterday Truth released SIX new hair styles for us to spend our Ls on, there are new colour packs available so make sure you grab a demo for those as well! Truth also started a model search competition that will run until the 1st of June. You can read all the rules and info on the prizes here in the competition Flickr group. I love this retro style Sadie hair so I decided to do something of a pin up style entry.

Some Days

Some days, you don’t want to get up. You don’t want to get up, or get dressed, or fix your hair. But you force yourself to at least put on those comfy pants and that oversized cardigan and pull your hair back into some semblance of a style and you sit. You sit and wish that the world would stop turning and it feels like it should, because how can you go on after this? If it would all just stop, then it wouldn’t have happened and you wouldn’t have to face it. But it doesn’t, it has and you do.

I was wearing most of this outfit for a few days, partly because it was system layers and I wanted to be in those for demoing at Vintage Fair but mostly because I just felt like it. Then Toki Doki released this Apathetic Cardigan and it was just perfect to go with. I love the cable knit texture and the colours it’s available in are all soft and comfortable. I don’t know if you can describe a colour as comfortable but I just did. This cardigan is a must buy for those every day looks.

On a side note, I believe that the Toki Doki group is now back open for people to join. There is a 250L joining fee but Maya has already put out a group gift a couple of days ago. If you’re not in it, make sure you join so that you don’t miss out!

Maybe tomorrow I’ll feel like getting dressed.

New @ Toki Doki

While they’re celebrating their second birthday Toki Doki released this super cute Carol dress. It’s mesh and available in several bright summery colours all with the retro floral print detail and a similar back to their recently released Mari top.

The birthday sales are still going on, with Maya reducing several of her items every day by 75%. I picked up this cute bag in the sale today and the mesh boots were on sale yesterday, although when I was there a few hours ago they were still on sale so you might get lucky if you didn’t get them already!

The group gifts that have been put out every day have also been fabulous but just a reminder that these are for current group members only. Every day I’ve gone to the store I see people trying to join, but Maya made the decision to close the group for a few days while these gifts are out, as a way of rewarding her existing group members. So if you’re not in the group make sure you join it as soon as it’s reopened so that you don’t miss out on any future sales! Everyone else can still take advantage of the great discounts she has on offer though, so make sure you get over there every day and see what bargains you can snap up!

The hair that I’m wearing is a mesh release from Wasabi Pills at Hair Fair, don’t forget this closes today so make sure you’ve visited and grabbed everything you want, and also pick up those bandanas and help contribute to Wigs for Kids!

Also I’m in love with this BonBon headband from LaGyo which is currently available at the latest round of The Dressing Room. A few weeks ago LaGyo released a BonBon ring at The Dressing Room too and I have to admit to being guilty of wearing it almost every day since, so this matching headband (with colour change stones)  might not be removed for a while!

I’m glad I wore this outfit today, I was feeling a bit blue with the weekend almost being over but the colours cheered me up and then I remembered that a new round of FaMESHed starts in a couple of days, as well as Vintage Fair! So really lots to look forward to this week.

Bandana Day – 29th July

As I mentioned earlier, Hair Fair 2012 closes tomorrow, but it’s also Bandana Day!

I’m sure you’re aware that a portion of the money raised at Hair Fair is donated to the Wigs for Kids charity and Bandana Day is always the last day of the fair, where people remove their hair to show they care.

You may have seen the bandana stores dotted around the hair fair, (I think there’s at least 2 on every sim) where you can purchase the bandana’s for a mere 50Ls. There are lots of fun and quirky styles, designed by bloggers as well as designers and all money raised from the sales of these is added to the money that the creators are donating.

So if you haven’t picked up a bandana or two make sure you get over there and sport your own style to show you care, tomorrow on the 29th!

Glam Affair – Cassiopea

The new Cassiopea skin from Glam Affair has finally arrived! Some teasers were thrown out over the last few weeks and now it’s here I can honestly say I’m not disappointed.

There was a bit of a hullaballoo over previous Glam Affair skins. Some people said the tones were ashen or the faces didn’t match the skin. I have to say that was exactly how they appeared to me too, until I started fussing with my windlight settings when I was taking pictures and then I managed to find some that worked and evened everything out. But still, I was a bit put off from buying them.

So when Aida Ewing of Glam Affair announced that her new skins were coming with an updated body, I was more than excited. I have to say she has done a great job on these skins. The new tones are very natural and not at all ashen, the face and body textures match perfectly and the body shading is much more natural looking.

Having said that, this is still not going to replace my every day League skin as there are one or two things I am not keen on. I find the eyebrows a little dark and much more of a pencilled on look rather than natural (especially the brown ones, that’s why I went red for this picture) and the blush was a bit too bold for my taste on a lot of the make ups. I do hope that maybe in future the blush can come in seperate layers though – after all Linden Labs finally did something right when they gave us tattoo layers, it’d be a shame not to use them! If that was the case then this would almost certainly be my new every day skin. These things are just personal preference though, the skin itself is very well made and a huge improvement on previous Glam Affair skins.

On a side note, I did have to change my shape to fit the skin and since I won’t be wearing it all the time, most likely just for a few pictures here, I decided that I’d put it for sale on the marketplace under the Penchant label for anyone who is interested.

Overall I do love this skin and hope that the next releases from Glam Affair are just as good (I’m sure they will be) and maybe with some of the make up options available as seperate layers!

I think there is a possibility that I have some issues.

Every time I get a lingerie set that I want to take a picture of and blog, I end up with a completely emo setting, usually something with head in hands, surrounded by suitcases or as above, cardboard boxes. Then just to add to the uh, mood, I make it black and white so you can’t even see the underwear very well anyway!

Oh well, I gotta admit I do like it when I make these pictures. The lingerie is pretty, trust me. It’s by Fishy Strawberry and is at TDR now, don’t miss it!

There Is Always Hope

I’m a girl. Quite a girly girl in fact, but I’m also a football fan and I can even, shock horror, explain the offside rule!

Clearly from the picture above I’m English and there comes a certain amount of heart ache with following the English football team because, well, we never win anything. You also have to be a bit of realist, especially this year because let’s face it, the only way we’re going to win is if lady luck is smiling down on us.

Despite all that, I just can’t help but hope.

So ahead of England’s opening game against France tomorrow in Euro 2012, I just wanted to say good luck and…try not to break my heart too much this year eh boys?

Is it the weekend yet?? I got some mid week emo-ness on tap if anyone’s interested? No? Didn’t think so.

Love this mesh sweater from Chemistry! I saw a couple of pictures of it on Flickr and it looked great, a really fresh and different design to most of the mesh currently on offer on the grid. I love baggy styles like this, they make me feel all homely and comfortable so that was an easy purchase for me. And the Sweet n Low jeans from Jane as well, another nice, comfy addition to my ever growing inventory.

Also have to say that lately I just can’t get enough of Maxi Gossamer. If you haven’t checked out this jewellery range yet you really must. Lots of gorgeous mesh designs and the prices are pretty incomparable to anything else around, not that I’m cheap or anything!

Maternity SLipster Style

A month or so ago I had been on the verge of packing away the majority of my non mesh clothing items, but I’m so glad I didn’t because recycling has become my thing since we started playing pregnant. So I’m not showing any new releases here, but rather an outfit that is suitable to wear if you’re carrying a bump around like I am.

I’ve decided that any posts I make while I’ve got the bump will be outfits that can be worn with or without it (unless someone brings out a fantabulous maternity mesh line in the next couple of weeks), because not only can I not wear most mesh items but I can’t even really wear anything that has prim parts around the stomach either, so it’s not easy to look up to date with this shape.

However! My recycling is working and even though it takes me three times as long to put an outfit together (unless I’m wearing those freebie Jane tanks haha) I think today I managed to pull it off. So this is me in an old Tres Blah dress, it does have a prim attachment but this sits nicely just above the bump with a tiny bit of editing. I know from this picture at the top you can’t even notice the bump, so here’s another view just to prove I’ve got a fat belly!

Well that’s me for today, I won’t bore you all with my maternity woes every time I post don’t worry, but since I noticed that pretty much no one else does any maternity related posts I thought it would be a nice change now and then…but believe me, I’m counting the days to the due date because I can’t wait to get my hands on some new mesh!
