Letting It Go

Hiiii people, just a quickie post today before I vanish for the weekend, but I wanted to show you a couple of new things.

First this top from Tulip which you can grab today for Fifty Linden Friday, it’s so soft and floaty and perfect for the light spring season. I’m also wearing another new release from Drift which are these capris. I really like that Drift makes regular releases rather than waiting a month or 2 before releasing a small collection. Don’t get me wrong I like that too but yanno, I’m impatient and I like to have stuff right this minute. Also before you think I PS’d the heck out of the pants, I didn’t. They are already heavily shaded, which is great for taking pics because it saves a lot of edit time. Just like Kalli’s recent releases they come with a colour change HUD, so lots of options for a bargain price.

I got this belt a few days ago at Le Poppycock’s 50L spring sale, they have a few belts there that come with 4 different coloured straps for each buckle. Make sure you check out their sale as they have lots of cute little bits and pieces which are great for adding to outfits.

I gotta say too, this hat with the hair is obviously a release from Maitreya last year but I love it so much, I really hope we start to see more similar items from other hair creators as the warmer seasons kick in, there just aren’t enough of these on the grid imo!

Ombre Alert

Hiii guys, just thought I’d get a quick Friday post in before I sign off for the weekend!

I’m not gonna lie to you, I totally bought this hair after I saw it on Danni Ravinelli’s blog, Forsaken, a few days ago. She’s one of my favourite bloggers and I always love her style so when I saw this hair do from a store called Pollen I had to check it out. I’d never heard of Pollen until then and when I looked into it in world, I found the creator and that she has a marketplace store for mesh hair here. She only has 2 styles at present and the colour packs are pretty basic, just a brunette, reds, blondes and black and whites, but you get 8 different shades in each. The demo also came with 4 colours options and I found the brunette, red and black texture good but I was not a fan of the blonde. It seemed really quite yellow, although this was only one shade so I don’t know how the others will look since there isn’t a complete colour sample pack. I decided to just stick with brunette since I didn’t want to take a chance just to see if I liked the other blondes better. This is the Giselle style and non rigged mesh so easy to edit. Overall I love this hair style and will definitely be keeping a look out for Pollen’s future releases!

Emery’s latest release hit the grid yesterday and I’m featuring a couple of them. The Carrie sweater and the Samantha bag! I adore both of these and for some reason even more so since they’re named after Sex in the City characters, there was also a Charlotte skirt which is adorable but nothing for poor Miranda

Maitreya brought us their Autumn ankle boots a couple of days ago too with a special colour block pack at a reduced price for VIP group members. This group is FREE to join so I have no idea why you wouldn’t already be in it and you get the set of 3 boots for half the normal price. 500Ls for 3 pairs of Maitreya boots? Yes please! They were also really great colours as well, this beige colour, oxblood and a dark grey which is almost black. Make sure you take advantage of this promo because it’s only on for a limited time!

Remember I mentioned the Erratic 50% off sale yesterday? Well I’m also wearing a couple more items I picked up there too. The shorts and tights are both half price and while I like these shorts a lot and had considered buying them before, I’d decided that I didn’t really need more denim shorts. Well it turned out in fact that I needed 3 more pairs when they were half price.

This ^ and the Maitreya group pack is a classic example for me of how discounts and events with reduced prices boost sales. If it’s cheap or reduced, I’m gonna buy one, maybe 2 or 3 (ok sometimes 4) even if I don’t need it and I’m gonna buy it right then and there, just because it’s cheap. If an item is full price and I’m not gushing in love with it, if I don’t need it right at that moment, if I already have similar items in my inventory or it was more than I’d expect to pay, then it becomes a considered purchase for me and there’s probably a 95% chance that I’m just not going to buy it at all. But something cheap that I don’t need, love and have 5 different versions of already? I’m gonna jump all over that, coz I never know when it’ll come in handy! I’m happy at the end of it because I feel like I got a great bargain and the creator probably ends up with more money from me coz I’ll buy at least 2 colours/versions as opposed to buying one or none at all. Pretty much win/win really.

Amberly & Maitreya

If you’re a fan of Glam Affair you will no doubt have heard about the photo competition they are currently running for their popular Amberly skin line. There are some great prizes up for grabs which you can find with the rules and how to enter on the Glam Affair blog here. Amberly became my everyday skin as soon as it was released so I couldn’t resist the chance to enter, if nothing else it’s great practice for editing pics!

So while I was tearing my hair out about what to wear for the picture (not literally but can’t lie, I was stressed lol) Maitreya put out some amaaaazebulous (just made that up) pieces. This Dakota dress that I’m wearing also comes in just a top version as well as having lots of different shades and print options. I got a couple of different versions but since I’m loving classic black a lot lately, I went with that.

To accessorize I added the new Isabella earrings which you can find by LaGyo at the March round of Collabor88 that started on Friday and the bracelet from Maxi Gossamer is there too! Both of these pieces are the usual high quality mesh and other matching accessories are available. I finished the look with the Zanzi clutch that House of Fox released for The Arcade Gacha event!

Mixed Up

No the title of this post is in no way shape or form referring to me, well ok maybe a little, but mainly it’s because I’m wearing a mash up of items from 50 million different events. Well ok, like three.

First of all this cute T shirt from So Many Styles that you can grab at The Dressing Room Fusion. It’s just a classic, staple item for those days when you want to be casual. Also new (ish) are these hi top style sneakers from LaRoo at FaMESHed. They are unisex and come with a HUD to colour change each part (soles, laces, fabric etc) and there are tons of texture options in there for you to choose from.

I’ve also got a couple of new items available at The Arcade Gacha event. The Polyex Sports Watch from Yummy is such a great retro accessory and I was lucky enough to get the silver rare version on my second go! I’m also wearing the fishing bag that was by Sleepy Eddy for the event. It’s meant for guys I know but with an easy little resize it fits perfectly.

This hair from Truth was out a while ago but I hadn’t gotten round to blogging it yet, I just thought it was perfect for this casual, sassy look!

Anyway, it’s C88 eve and I need to go find a place I can stand around while sort my inventory in preparation!

There was a shoe frenzy this weekend, after Maitreya released the Shiki platforms on Friday, Gos followed up with the Gos Boutique range and 4 amazing designs for us ladies. I seriously felt spoilt for choice but from the new Gos shoes, these Sophia peeptoes are definitely my favourite.

I think most people will agree that matching the skin on any mesh body part to your actual skin is a complete pita. Well not with the new Gos shoes! When you wear the HUD a pop up appears asking if you want to go to the website, I pasted that address to my browser where I was automatically shown logged in. On the website there is just about every popular skin designer you can imagine, plus all the tones pre programmed. I simply clicked Glam Affair, America then the sync button on the HUD and the exact match for that skin appeared! One click and bam, instant match! It really doesn’t come any easier than this and I’ll be crossing my fingers and toes that this will be something other creators pick up on!

Another of Maitreya’s new releases on Friday was this little leather skirt and I added the new mesh shirt and cropped sweater from Coco which is really adorable. Oh and new Truth hair! This lovely Laurie style has a ponytail at the back and some loose bangs that frame your face perfectly.

It wasn’t until I put this outfit on that I realised how skinny my avatar has been getting lately. I tend to just change my body shape (body fat and muscle) depending on the outfit I’m wearing which doesn’t bother me at all. But when I had to slim down my legs again so that I could fit into the XS skirt to layer with the M top was when it really hit me. I think I’ve been slimming down and forgetting to ever go back up again so I’m gonna have to write a note to myself about that! Do you ever change your avie shape just for certain outfits? Or would you rather not buy unless the item fits perfectly?

All Coming Back To Me Now

Is everyone sick of seeing these headpieces from Glam Affair all over Flickr and the feeds? Well I’m not and if you are I’m sorry, but they are just far tooooo pretty for me to pass up snapping a picture with! If you didn’t know (ha, joker I am) you can grab them at this month’s round of Collabor88!

Just like everyone else I get super excited when a new Maitreya release hits the grid, but when I first saw the ads for this latest my initial thought was ehhhhhh, do I really need more dresses and fancy clothes? I don’t usually even bother demoing Maitreya but I did this time and it turns out that apparently I need ALL THE FANCY CLOTHES!

Really, as soon as I put them on I knew I was gonna buy and 30 seconds later there was that familiar little jingle of coins topping up my L balance and a bunch of new stuff in my inventory.

In this picture I’m wearing the Mignon evening dress, which is a version of the Mignon dress that Maitreya released in the summer. There are a ton of colours to choose from, choosing was almost impossible for me actually and in the end I just decided that classic black was always a winner. The way the mesh and textures are created really are perfection and it seems as though the dress is hugging your curves in all the right places, but at the same time desperately close to melting away. Overall it’s a very understated but sexy little number.

I also couldn’t resist the new Shiki platforms! I really wasn’t going to buy them since they are kinda similar to the Suave wedges that came out a couple of months ago but then I noticed…that the HUD had 30 different platform textures you could choose from! So that pretty much made my mind up for me.

Finally for today, just in case you didn’t know (I’m so behind in announcing this stuff today but it’s always worth giving a reminder!) Elikatira are having a 70% off sale on her ENTIRE stock of hair. It runs until the 23rd of Feb and after that every single item she has now will be discontinued as she aims to reopen in a few months with lots of new! Poppins in Paris

First of all, I would like to say that this picture has absolutely nothing to do with Mary Poppins. A couple of weeks ago Harper joked that I should be her nanny, and then Coral Poppins was born. It was meant to be my display name for a week but it’s lingering….sighs…so ok, I did think that this outfit had a bit of a Parisian feel about it, and I took the picture at the Cupcake sim so it fitted.

Also (sorry about this waffling) I know it’s a bit of a summery/spring look and I’m seeing tons of beautiful autumn and now winter themed pictures popping up on other blogs and Flickr, but where I live in RL it’s still bright and sunny, a little bit of a chill in the air but a light cardigan or jacket is all you need and you can still sit outside and enjoy a meal. So I just can’t take winter seriously right now.

The top is by The Secret Store and is out for sale at FaMeshed, or if you follow Lazy Sunday you could’ve picked it up for 70Ls at their store a couple of days ago. It’s completely cute and tucked to fit well with high waisted mesh items.

The skirt is an old group gift from Fanatik. However, you CAN still get your hands on it. This skirt and one of their mesh dresses is on display at the mainstore, all you need to do is join the group for 100Ls to get them both!

I’m wearing the new Cyanne mesh hair from Truth as well. Accessorising can really make a difference to a look or an outfit, and this hair makes it that little bit easier with the scarf already attached. There is a colour change HUD for the scarf so you can easily mix and match it with different outfits. I wish more hair styles came with accessories like this and I’m looking forward to seeing what others come up this season.

Ok so….me and Harper took this picture together and she posted hers earlier on today and somehow was blaming me for the entire thing. Well here’s really what happened. Lately I been thinking I needed more colour in my life, and pink was my colour of choice.  So when I saw this new hairstyle from Truth, I was chatting with the girl and said “hey, we should do a cute, fun style pic with that hair” to which Harper said, “ok!” So we planned to do it this week, but little did I know that “cute and fun” equated to Harper as “dress up like Joy from My Name is Earl.” What can I say, she’s a little bit like that. Anyway, we had fun and we still look cute, so mission accomplished!

Comfy

This is not a fancy post, it’s just a comfy post. You know in a world like SL – where you can “be whoever you want to be” it’s funny how most of the time I choose to just be a comfy, casual, regular kinda gal.

The latest releases from Maitreya are a perfect staple for this season. As always with Maitreya the quality of the product is amazing with the textures and mesh appearing very realistic. Also the new Josie hair from Truth is a very relaxed style. It’s non rigged mesh so easily adjustable and I love the braid on the side, it just gives it that something else so it’s not just another messy bun style.

Lastly I gave in to the Roza basics skins from Glam Affair. I was wearing Ginny a lot but I loved Roza before and even though I tried, I couldn’t hold back from buying the basic pack that’s now available. Since the new bodies on the GA skins, I’ve found hard not to buy every release but Roza and Ginny are definitely my 2 faves and I’m pretty sure that they’ll be my new every day skins. Until the next release at least!

A short post from me today because this outfit has made me wanna wear it in real life and cosy up on the couch under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate, so that’s exactly what I’m gonna do!

Underneath my Clothes

I know you’ve all seen these boots by Gos 100 times or more over the last couple of days, but I don’t get a chance to be here on the weekends and dammit, I wanted to dress up and take a picture of them too!

This pose I’m using is a super old one from Maitreya, I remember they used it to advertise a pair of boots back in…hmm, 08 maybe? I’m not sure if the ad they made is still up in the store but I remember being really drawn to it and I bought the pose but never used it. So when I saw these boots coming out I knew I had to root around in my inventory for it. So that’s my excuse for being selfish and showing you these boots again anyway.

I’m also wearing the new Ginny skin from Glam Affair which was out at Collabor88 today and I simply adore it. I think this is probably my favourite Glam Affair skin to date. I’m wearing the American tone, the 03 version because I love the classic red lipstick and I knew it would go well with the picture I had in mind.

Also new is this sexy, tousled  updo from Truth! It’s rigged mesh so you won’t be able to move it around, but I find that Truth hairs always fit very well with little to no modification for me, whether they’re mesh or not, they are made to fit a pretty standard head size/shape.

Lastly I’m wearing the new ring from Maxi Gossamer that was part of the leather studded bracelet set that was released at C88 today as well. I love big rings and this pretty is no exception.

So yea, this picture totally looks like an ad, well it was inspired by an old advert anyway and after I’d taken the shot and done all my touch ups in Photoshop, it just looked really plain and some how it ended up morphing in to more of an advert style pic. I’m still practising and playing around with a lot of editing techniques so I guess this is just another for me to work on!
