Chillaxing

I’m chilling today so forgive the lazy picture, but I had some stuff to share so I wanted to do something at least!

First of all I wanted to tell you about a new store called Foppish, which you can find on the marketplace here. They have some cute, mesh items and this fringe top is one of my favourites. It comes in a bunch of different colours with different prints on the front and it’s great for days like today when I just want to sit around in my house in jeans and a tee, but it could so easily be pulled in to other outfits and really give an edge. There were a couple of small issues for me, first of all it’s not textured on the inside which I’m not particularly fussy about but the sizing was a bit off and I found that it sat just a tad high over my body, so that from certain angles the alpha beneath or the invisible inner texture was showing. These things aren’t deal breakers for me when I buy things (unless it’s extreme, which this wasn’t), but it would just be nice if they weren’t there. Since Foppish is a new store I’m sure there will be improvements as more stuff is released, so I’m excited about this brand, it’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

Finally a brief mention about my hands. “Your hands? Are those mesh hands you’re wearing Miss Lacey?” Why yes, they are! This is just a sneak peek of the newest release that will be coming soon from Korundi, and I can tell you, they’re amazing! I always hate the way my system hands turn out in pictures, but these have had no liquify in Photoshop at all and I just love them. Shyla

Belleza put a spanner in the works for me yesterday when they released this new skin Shyla. As we know my day to day skin is Jen by League, I wear others from time to time when I’m taking pictures and as much as I liked them, none of them struck me as something I would wear 80% of the time. So I was happy enough to stick with Jen and just recently updated my profile picture and everything with it. Then Shyla arrived.

I’m super fussy about my every day skin and while I love my others that I wear for pics, they just don’t feel like me. But Shyla does. The body is nice and natural like most Belleza skins, not shiny or over shaded, and the face has just the right amount of make up for daily wear. Usually I’ll find that I love a face on a skin, except for the lips, or I love the lips but the rest has too much make up, but this all fits perfectly. The tones are natural, not greyish or dull and I love that you can buy the lipstick layers separately, I only wish that I could get eye shadows the same way! But I can’t have it all I guess.

So right now I’m sorely tempted to start wearing this every day, the only thing that’s stopping me is that I feel like I look sad. I know I have my lips with a slight down turn most of the time, but I think with this skin it’s the eyebrows. They look like sad eyebrows to me. You can’t notice it so much in the picture here because I have a hair with bangs, and generally I do prefer hairstyles like that so I don’t think it’s going to be too much of an issue. Considering how much I love this skin I don’t think that getting used to that slight sad look is going to be a problem, so for now I’ll keep wearing it and see how I feel every day!

Overall this is my favourite release from Belleza ever. So go try it!

Vintage Fair 2012

Vintage Fair 2012 (brought to you by Chic Managment)  is right around the corner and opens it’s doors on August 4th and run until the 29th.

There are 3 full sims packed with vintage inspired designs from our talented creators on the grid. This years fair is sponsored by Aura, Belleza, Cheeky Pea, ColdLogic, GizzA, Indyra Originals, oOo Studio, PurpleMoon Creations and Trompe Loeil who are also participating.

So this is my first fair preview and I hope to bring more over the next couple of days as the designers get set up and display their wares!

This mesh skirt I’m wearing is from Ingenue and I’m really liking the cord type texture and belt detail. I usually wear a medium in standard sizing but I must have my “love” slider up a little high because in the end I had to wear the large to get a good fit. No sooner had I put this skirt on, I felt the need to go and pose in my kitchen – how very sexist of me!

Also available at the fair are these cute 50s style heels by Chachadee! This picture does not really do them justice, but the textures and shading are just perfect. They come in a few colours but this nude and brown is definitely my favourite (I know, I’m dull like that).

The final Vintage Fair item is the pose I’m using which is by Glitterati in their Pin Up Girl set. There are 10 poses in this set and you can bet that I’ll be using a few of them over the coming days!

So get excited people, Vintage Fair cometh!

New @ Toki Doki

While they’re celebrating their second birthday Toki Doki released this super cute Carol dress. It’s mesh and available in several bright summery colours all with the retro floral print detail and a similar back to their recently released Mari top.

The birthday sales are still going on, with Maya reducing several of her items every day by 75%. I picked up this cute bag in the sale today and the mesh boots were on sale yesterday, although when I was there a few hours ago they were still on sale so you might get lucky if you didn’t get them already!

The group gifts that have been put out every day have also been fabulous but just a reminder that these are for current group members only. Every day I’ve gone to the store I see people trying to join, but Maya made the decision to close the group for a few days while these gifts are out, as a way of rewarding her existing group members. So if you’re not in the group make sure you join it as soon as it’s reopened so that you don’t miss out on any future sales! Everyone else can still take advantage of the great discounts she has on offer though, so make sure you get over there every day and see what bargains you can snap up!

Also I’m in love with this BonBon headband from LaGyo which is currently available at the latest round of The Dressing Room. A few weeks ago LaGyo released a BonBon ring at The Dressing Room too and I have to admit to being guilty of wearing it almost every day since, so this matching headband (with colour change stones)  might not be removed for a while!

I’m glad I wore this outfit today, I was feeling a bit blue with the weekend almost being over but the colours cheered me up and then I remembered that a new round of FaMESHed starts in a couple of days, as well as Vintage Fair! So really lots to look forward to this week.

Lazy Friday LOTD & Limited Bazaar

Yep it’s Friday! Yep, I’m feeling lazy!

Today saw the first round of a new event called Limited Bazaar, hosted by Euphoria. Every 2 weeks 15 designers will display limited editions for 150Ls. There will only be 100 of each item available. I have to say I think this is a pretty great idea for a showcase, it’s something different to the others (and there are a lot of others now) and it gives people the chance to purchase something that they don’t have to worry about running in to 20 people wearing at the same time. (Do we worry about that in virtual world? I don’t actually worry about it but I have to admit that I like the idea of owning something not many others do.) Anyway, I think it’s a great idea and I really hope this event takes off.

I have to admit that I didn’t actually hear about Limited Bazaar (I know – slacker!) until I saw it in a stores group notice today, I checked the time and it opened at 12pm SLT…which wasn’t good news for me as I expected to be out for RL at that point and I groaned a bit because I’d seen the Toki Doki releases and knew I had to get my hands on something at least. Luck was on my side today though and I was home earlier than expected, so I hot footed it over to Euphoria and yay! I managed to grab one of these limited edition Toki Doki cardigans. I love this cardi and I do have it in a couple of other colours already, I wear it a lot and I have blogged it before but this one is special so you get to see it again!

I know this is a very lazy post but actually this is kind of how I dress a lot of the time in world. Not with my bra on full display obviously…but just relaxed and casual and not over the top on accessories. Probably because I’m too lazy most days. In fact, I’m not even sure how I manage to blog at all my laziness can be so great.

So anyway, enough rambling. Oh! But this hair…it’s cute. Wasabi Pills at Hair Fair on the Water sim!

Finally…FLF (I had more to write than I thought). Love this chair from The Loft! It won’t go with my current house but unfortunately I’m one of those people who buys things -just in case- and sales and events like Fifty Linden Friday bring out the worst of that in me. Also this cute pose is from dfo! at FLF, so if you haven’t been yet you have a few more hours to go grab them!

Meet My Alt

Meet my alt! Her name’s Darcy and she doesn’t really serve any purpose other than to sell some little bits and pieces that I make on the marketplace. I always try my hardest to make my alts look different to main, and I thought I did well at that but I’ve been told by friends that they’d know it was me right away…but look at Darcy, she’s nothing like Coral!

I don’t spend a lot of money dressing alts coz well, they’re alts and they don’t get used. I prefer to clutter up Coral’s inventory instead, but today I realised Darcy had worn the same outfit for about 3 months (don’t judge! it’s not like anyone see’s her!) so I popped over to C88 before it changes next week and picked up the Chantkare Shaggylicious dress which is very cute and perfect for summer.

Every time I get an outfit that’s full of bright colours like this, the only place I want to go and take pics is Tableau. I’d love to have some recommendations of other locations that have the same time of feel as Tableau, so if you know any feel free to share!

Mesh Around

The Mesh Around hunt hosted by The Ego Co started a couple of days ago and today I finally got round to finishing it!

So much mesh goodness in this hunt and a wide variety of products too, there is definitely something for everybody. I think I’m going to do a couple of posts on the items that are available because the mix of styles that are on the hunt is quite broad. There is also a lot of lovely mesh furniture on the hunt from places like Trompe Loeil and Cheeky Pea. It’s really not to be missed!

This is my first outfit I put together from the hunt. The skirt is from the first store on the list, Evolve and the top comes from Jinx’d Inc. To wear them together I actually had to wear the skirt in a size that was much too small for me, and if I took the top off you’d see that the skirt was really half way through my body, but because the top covers it, it works for this outfit.

I picked up the necklace from the latest round of TDR that started a couple of days ago too, lots of nice new items there!

Also I’ve been meaning to blog these sandals from SLink. I actually haven’t taken them off for days because I’m so in love with them. They are mesh attachments to the SLink mesh feet and I think this is a great idea. For the past month or so I’ve been waiting desperately for someone to bring out some casual sandals with mesh feet, but the idea of having them just as an add on is perfect. I can’t wait to see the next add ons *crosses every part of her body and prays for mesh flip flops!!*

Don’t forget the Chic2 event opens at 4pm SLT today… I better get my skates on!

Where The Birds Fly

So while I was sitting here waiting for the Mesh Around hunt to start today I got a notice that the new round of FaMESHed had opened, and I’d completely forgotten it was today! Well yay! I hot footed it over there and had a look around and here’s a couple of my favourite pieces.

This cute little dress from Pixel Mode is just perfect for summer. So simple, pretty and easy to throw on with a pair of sandals, it comes in several different colours including some darker shades if you wanted to class it up a bit for evening wear.

Also this fab bow ring from Maxi Gossamer (predictable after my last post where I raved about their range, I know). Not only is the ring mesh but it’s scripted to colour change as well, so you can mix and match it with a variety of outfits.

Just to mention the location of this picture too…it’s Neva River and I think I found a new favourite place for picture taking! The sim is beautifully built and furnished, and at first when you get there it doesn’t seem to be much, but when you start getting close to each of the little islands the details in the decor are just exquisite. Expect to see lots of pictures from me there!

Shades of Summer from Culture Shock

Back to Culture Shock! Even after my mammoth shop there a couple of days ago, I’ve found myself back every day since picking up other bits that I might have not noticed before. I think I was incredibly disorganised the other day and just bought without even thinking about what would go together, and now I’m paying the price! Not that going back is any great hardship of course…except to my L balance.

This top I’m wearing is from Tutti Frutti, by Bela Tolsen, which is a new store to me. I’ve seen similar styles like this top on the grid recently but none that fit me quite as well as this one did, so I was thrilled about that.The necklace is from Je Suis and is also available at Culture Shock. I love the fact that it’s colour change for both the stone and chain, so you can mix and match it with just about any outfit.

The pose is another of my latest splurges purchases. It’s from the Glitterati “Bitch” set that is available exclusively at Culture Shock right now.

G Field are also giving away a pair of their Alex Strap Shoes in patent yellow for free at the event which go nicely with this outfit…unfortunately you can’t see them here, but definitely worth picking a pair up.

Maybe tomorrow will be the first day that I haven’t gone back to Culture Shock this week, but I can’t promise anything!
