FaMESHed are celebrating their one year anniversary this month and have invited back all the designers who have participated so far! There is a huuuuuge array of goodies available, clothes and accessories for both men and women as well as lots of great decor pieces, so make sure you visit!

I was immediately in love with this new denim jacket that Emery released for the event. I’ve been silently willing someone to make one for a while now and I’m so glad Emery did. There are a few different shades available, I opted for the mid blue, and the quality is fantabulous.

Baiastice also have some great new releases for this round, including this cute dress! It would’ve been so easy to dress this up in a formal way, but I decided I wanted to wear it a bit differently. It comes in both striped or plain, (I say plain, it’s a white top half with a coloured skirt part) patterns and is gonna be great for the spring/summer season. They also released a new cross jewellery set, which comprises of a necklace and matching ring, these are exactly the kinda style I love to wear so I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them and I’m sure they’ll make a few appearances here!

I’d been tempted to wear a pair of scruffy combat type boots with this outfit, which would’ve looked cute too but I decided to go with these SLink heels that I picked up yesterday because I wanted to mention their sale to you. If you didn’t know, SLink are reducing everything by 30% for this week (excluding the mesh hands and feet) which will run until the 5th of May. I picked up these glasses by Sorgo at the latest round of TDR that started on Friday. I love the style of them but I noticed that the lens was darker on the bottom half than it was on the top, which would’ve been fine if it blended into the lighter half, but it didn’t. It just looked like when SL messes up and you get those squares of darker resolution on your pics, right under my eyes. So I fixed that in Photoshop because I didn’t like it.

She’s Just A Girl

Happy Monday peoples!

I had a nice relaxing weekend and a great afternoon catching up with all the new things today, so I got a few to show you!

First Lamb released a couple of new hairs, as usual they’re similar with slight variations, which I love because if one doesn’t suit my face shape the other normally does. But one of my favourite things about Lamb hair is their ombre and roots pack. I love the contrast of the light blondes with the really dark roots, this always works well for me coz I prefer to wear skin with dark eyebrows even when I’m wearing light hair and so the roots are a nice touch, to make me look like even more of a bottle blonde

Baiastice had a nice spring/summer release and while this top would look great with shorts on the beach, I decided to match it with the new Villena high waist jeans for more of a rock chick look. The top comes in a few different colours and in either a studs or pinstripe option.

TDR Fusion kicked off a new round on Friday with lots of great, cheap goodies so I’m wearing the new sunglasses I picked up there by Swallow. The fab little owl bracelet I’m wearing is by Erratic and was their FLF item but you can usually still pick these things up in the store after, albeit for a lil bit more dollar. The chunky chains I’m wearing are Glow Studio for C88 and come with matching bracelets too!

Now a bit about the tattoo I’m wearing. As you know it’s been impossible to create single sleeve tats in SL due to the system layer pattern only having one sleeve, so it would always make two identical ones. But with mesh it can be done! I admit I’ve been sceptical about mesh tattoos so far, I bought one once without demoing and I hated it, it didn’t fit at all.

I’m super fussy about any tattoo’s I wear in SL, I never want to wear “heavy” ones, or ones that aren’t feminine enough and this is always a problem if you’re ever trying to buy sleeves. Also I like to have half sleeves since I got my mesh hands, otherwise the tattoo gets faded out with the hands blend layer and it just looks all kinds of wrong. ANYWAY, today I was browsing the marketplace again for tattoos, which I seem to do a lot, when I came across this one by B*Fly. There wasn’t a demo which put me off right away, but it did have a 5 star review so I just thought ok, I’mma do it! Well I wasn’t disappointed. It comes in 5 different sizes, with sleeves for both left and right arm, so you can pick which side you want to wear it. It also has a regular tattoo layer that goes over your shoulder and helps to blend it in. The sizes are -perfect- it fits so snugly against your shape that you wouldn’t even know it was a mesh layer. The only issue I had was that in certain poses when my shoulder was twisted or at a different angle to normal, the mesh kinda disappeared into the top of my shoulder. But it was only a little bit and only in certain poses so definitely not enough to put me off buying more, or being extremely happy with this one.

Anyway, that was much more long winded than I intended to make it so I’ll leave it there for now!

The Power Dress

The Dressing Room Fusion kicked off with a new round yesterday and today I wanted to show you one of my favourite items that you can grab at a discount and that’s this Mina dress from Milk Motion.

I’ve really loved a couple of Milk Motion’s latest releases and I definitely think they’re one of the upcoming designers. The texturing can be very simple and plain on some of their items but it’s improving and the designs are always fresh and funky. This dress is very cleverly designed in that it’s a mesh and layer hybrid, with the mesh reaching to just under your bust and the shoulder pads as extras. The top part is a regular system layer and guess what that means? It comes with appliers and can be worn with your Lola’s!

I don’t own mesh boobs (I’ve been told that I should…I’m still unconvinced) but since their release they’re pretty unmissable on the feeds and Flickr and lots of designers are now catering for them so there is a much broader range available and you don’t need to just walk around with half your bosom on display.

So although this dress is very simple, that makes it easy to accessorize and the high waist Hurley belt that LaGyo released last week for Collabor88 fits perfectly. I added the LaGyo Starla bracelet that can also be found at TDR Fusion and matches the other items they released for C88.

I’m also wearing this amazing new hair do from Lamb. I really need more Lamb in my life and I wish they released more often, but I can’t have it all so I’ll just snatch it up when I can. One of my favourite things about Lamb hair are the ombre and roots options they have. I know other designers do this as well but the contrast of Lamb’s blondes to the browns looks so realistic. I like being blonde but I always think my face looks odd when I add blonde brows, so with the dark roots from Lamb then I can get away with wearing my dark brows still. I could easily wear a blonde ombre with roots like this all day long.

HOF Blogger Search

Sooooo House of Fox have announced that they’re looking for bloggers! Since I’ve been loving so many of their latest releases I thought I’d put a little look together for it.

I wore this top in my last post, where I talked about the little black skirt being a staple item. Well this T-shirt from House of Fox is another. Even though it’s mesh I’ve found it pretty easy to layer under other mesh items, which is great for these cooler months when we want to incorporate jackets and coats into our looks.

The leggings were another of HoF’s latest releases for January’s round of FaMESHed. Obviously they’re mesh and come in several different colours, mostly darks which is perfect for me since I don’t wear a lot of brights.

I added a few pieces that I’ve picked up over the last few weeks and not had a chance to blog yet. So this cute mesh hat from Deco, the necklace and earrings set from Glow Studio. I’m terrible at remembering what events I got things from when it’s frequent rounds like Fifty Linden Friday or The Dressing Room (writes yet another note to self: be more organised) but thankfully most designers tend to put the items out in their main stores after.

Mon Tissu Blogger Search Contest

So last week Mon Tissu announced that they were going to hold a competition to find a new blogger. I’m not gonna lie, it kind of felt like I died a little bit when I saw their announcement and my reaction was OMG! Or more accurately, OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

I don’t really enter competitions in general, not just in SL but in my real life too. I’m sure this everything to do with lack of belief in my abilities, and fear of failure etc etc, I don’t need to see a shrink to figure that out. But this opportunity was more than just a competition, it was a challenge as well. Putting a look together that I loved with Mon Tissu pieces and making a good picture was a challenge and I decided that as long as I was proud of whatever I came up with in the end, that was what mattered. Which is why I’m sharing it here as well!

Kitten

Real life has been keeping me busy at weekends lately, but it’s a nice treat to get in world at the start of the week and find some new releases that were out while I was gone.

These boots are the new release from Leverocci and I love them. They’re the kind of thing you could wear with almost any outfit to add instant sexiness and I’m never gonna complain about a bit of help in that department! So these boots were my favourite of the Leverocci releases, but they also introduced a sub brand called Belgravia which you really should check out, they have the most gorgeous mesh fur (relax people, it’s only pixels) coat which I think will find it’s way in to my inventory very shortly.

Anyway I put together the boots with some other pieces that are recent (not new) but that I hadn’t gotten around to blogging yet. I’ve been wearing this mesh tank from Emery to death over the last couple of weeks or so, along with the Melinda mesh necklace from Korundi and I love the leather leggings that Tres Blah released for C88. I resisted buying mesh leather pants until these were released, but then I’m always a sucker for Tres Blah stuff.

The hairband is by LaGyo and you can find it at the latest round of TDR, it’s scripted to colour change like most LaGyo items these days, so easy to pair it up with outfits. Also love this mesh hair from Lamb! The messy, natural look is totally my thing and it’s made a nice change from all the updos I’ve been wearing lately.

Guess what I did today? Shopping! Just to add a little bit more clutter to that ever growing inventory. I’ve been getting lots of tips though so thanks for those, I’ll get round to doing something soon I’m sure!

This is a new release hair from Lamb at Hair Fari, which you can find located on the Flower sim, and here’s the SLURL. As you’ve probably noticed from my posts, I don’t usually change my hair colour, instead just wearing different shades of brown and I think that comes down to the continuity I kept for my role play character over all those years in SL. However! When I buy Lamb hair, I usually go for the ombre shades as it makes a nice change, but when I was trying this hair demo on and I accidently clicked the Milk colour demo, I decided that I actually really liked it. I umm’d and ahh’d over it the last couple of days because I wasn’t sure if I’d ever wear it, but when I started putting this outfit together this morning, I knew it’d be perfect.

I love this new mesh tank from Toki Doki. It’s out for the new round of Stumblebum and comes in a huge range of colours.  It really is versatile and you could wear it with pretty much anything. I didn’t want to go down the jeans and tank route today but with the textures and detail on the back (which you can’t see here but go try the demo coz it’s cute) it’s so easy to glam up as well.

Maternity SLipster Style

A month or so ago I had been on the verge of packing away the majority of my non mesh clothing items, but I’m so glad I didn’t because recycling has become my thing since we started playing pregnant. So I’m not showing any new releases here, but rather an outfit that is suitable to wear if you’re carrying a bump around like I am.

I’ve decided that any posts I make while I’ve got the bump will be outfits that can be worn with or without it (unless someone brings out a fantabulous maternity mesh line in the next couple of weeks), because not only can I not wear most mesh items but I can’t even really wear anything that has prim parts around the stomach either, so it’s not easy to look up to date with this shape.

However! My recycling is working and even though it takes me three times as long to put an outfit together (unless I’m wearing those freebie Jane tanks haha) I think today I managed to pull it off. So this is me in an old Tres Blah dress, it does have a prim attachment but this sits nicely just above the bump with a tiny bit of editing. I know from this picture at the top you can’t even notice the bump, so here’s another view just to prove I’ve got a fat belly!

Well that’s me for today, I won’t bore you all with my maternity woes every time I post don’t worry, but since I noticed that pretty much no one else does any maternity related posts I thought it would be a nice change now and then…but believe me, I’m counting the days to the due date because I can’t wait to get my hands on some new mesh!
