Happy Hump Day people! Hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday. First of all I was listening to this song by Adele earlier on today which was where the post title came from, I don’t mind admitting I’m a big fan of hers.

Anyway I got so much stuff to talk about in this post so I’ll try to keep each bit brief coz I know I have a tendency to ramble.

I was dressing up quite a lot lately, but as soon as the sun started shining and the seasons changing, I just want to run around the grid barefoot in tanks and shorts all the time. If I only had to buy one tank top this season then this Hangover Tank from Drift would be it. I’ll tell you why. There are 3 options you can buy it in, linen gauze, and a couple of different knitted versions. Each version comes with FIFTEEN different colour options on a very easy to use HUD. Not only that but the ruffles at the bottom of the top are a separate piece so you can wear it with or without and they have their own HUD too, so you can have different colour ruffles to the rest of the top. The combinations are endless and such a bargain for 225Ls.

I’m also wearing the Surfer Rosa hair from Clawtooth that you can find at The Arcade’s Gacha event, which is still going on for a bit. I actually bought this one at a yard sale to make sure I got the colour I wanted, I’m a cheater like that. The belt is the Rockabilly Birds belt by Sweet Leonard and was their item for Lazy Sunday a couple of days, but I’m pretty sure you could still pick it up in their store even though it might be a bit more expensive than the Lazy Sunday price. She also has lots of other matching accessories for it too.

I usually wear eyes that are a lot lighter than the ones in this picture, but since I was doing a different look these seemed to go pretty well. They were the group gift from Ikon for March. Are you a member of Ikon’s group? If not then I recommend it coz you get a free gift at the start of every month and the group is free to join! I love Ikon’s eyes so getting a new set every month is exciting!

I look a lot different in this picture mainly because I finally took the plunge and bought the new Zara skin from Glam Affair. This skin is currently only available exclusively at The Skin Fair on sim 2. Overall it’s really well made, as you’d expect form Glam Affair, and I think it’s a lot different to previous ones they’ve released. There are plenty of different make ups to choose from and some metallic eye shadows which are just amazing, but of course I got a more natural looking version (02) because I knew I’d wear that most. I’m not sure if it will replace Amberly for me, which has been my every day skin since it was released because there are a couple of features that I liked better on Amberly, like the lips and eyebrows. But that’s just personal preference and I’ll probably get used to it the more I wear it. You still get the clean version as well which actually I normally wear more than the ones with make up.

Now I don’t usually wear teeth. I’ve tried. I’ve bought tattoo layers, prim teeth, mesh teeth but they never look right to me because I always feel like too much of my top lip disappears. But today when I was fussing with the skin, adding bits and pieces, tweaking my shape etc, I found the Izzie’s tattoo teeth set I had and they fit this skin perfectly. I like the Izzie’s teeth because it doesn’t show too much. All I want is a hint of teeth, not a great big set of gnashers sticking out. The only thing about them is that I wish they weren’t so gappy. Other than that I think they look good with this skin!

Finally I took this picture at the gorgeous Neva River sim, which Neva Crystall has opened to the public for the next few days. I felt like a bit of a stalker taking a picture outside her house lol, but it’s a really beautiful place and I’ll definitely be returning for more photo ops. Amberly & Maitreya

If you’re a fan of Glam Affair you will no doubt have heard about the photo competition they are currently running for their popular Amberly skin line. There are some great prizes up for grabs which you can find with the rules and how to enter on the Glam Affair blog here. Amberly became my everyday skin as soon as it was released so I couldn’t resist the chance to enter, if nothing else it’s great practice for editing pics!

So while I was tearing my hair out about what to wear for the picture (not literally but can’t lie, I was stressed lol) Maitreya put out some amaaaazebulous (just made that up) pieces. This Dakota dress that I’m wearing also comes in just a top version as well as having lots of different shades and print options. I got a couple of different versions but since I’m loving classic black a lot lately, I went with that.

To accessorize I added the new Isabella earrings which you can find by LaGyo at the March round of Collabor88 that started on Friday and the bracelet from Maxi Gossamer is there too! Both of these pieces are the usual high quality mesh and other matching accessories are available. I finished the look with the Zanzi clutch that House of Fox released for The Arcade Gacha event!

Mixed Up

No the title of this post is in no way shape or form referring to me, well ok maybe a little, but mainly it’s because I’m wearing a mash up of items from 50 million different events. Well ok, like three.

First of all this cute T shirt from So Many Styles that you can grab at The Dressing Room Fusion. It’s just a classic, staple item for those days when you want to be casual. Also new (ish) are these hi top style sneakers from LaRoo at FaMESHed. They are unisex and come with a HUD to colour change each part (soles, laces, fabric etc) and there are tons of texture options in there for you to choose from.

I’ve also got a couple of new items available at The Arcade Gacha event. The Polyex Sports Watch from Yummy is such a great retro accessory and I was lucky enough to get the silver rare version on my second go! I’m also wearing the fishing bag that was by Sleepy Eddy for the event. It’s meant for guys I know but with an easy little resize it fits perfectly.

This hair from Truth was out a while ago but I hadn’t gotten round to blogging it yet, I just thought it was perfect for this casual, sassy look!

Anyway, it’s C88 eve and I need to go find a place I can stand around while sort my inventory in preparation!

Valentine Town

I’m back after a week away from SL! I missed quite a bit with the opening of C88 and some other releases so I sat and browsed Flickr for a couple of hours last night and when I came across this fantastic picture by Laverdag I knew I wanted to take a picture there so I went right away to visit. Valentine Town is packed with little stores and the scene is great for taking pictures. It’s just so full of cuteness and candy colours that you’d have to be careful if you’re diabetic. I don’t usually go for so much sweetness and the first time I went and snapped pics with my normal avatar it just didn’t look right at all. I debated what to do and even sent a Flickr mail to Laverdag asking if maybe I could use one of her pictures as a background for a pile up, which she graciously said was ok BUT then I remembered that I had the Dolls Head from Fasionably Dead at the last Arcade event sitting in my inventory and thought I’d give it a go. I found an old Essences skin I had that matched the light tone so perfectly I knew then it was meant to be! So after picking up this new dress from Nylon Outfitters at C88 I dashed back over to Valentine Town and got a shot I was happy with. This outfit isn’t mesh, there are glitch pants, a system skirt as well as a prim attachment and to be honest I’m not sure I’d wear it again as it’s not my typical style, but it’s the kind of quirky outfit that is great if you’re going for a particular look and I didn’t mind getting it just for one picture coz it’s only 88Ls! The hair is an adorable new release from Truth, it comes with and without a bow attachment that has a colour change HUD but because I was being awkward I wore the non bow version and added one from Auxiliary (more gacha) instead. Yet another Arcade item that I hadn’t used was this giant lollipop from Miasnow. This is the kind of picture that makes me glad that I buy things “just in case” lol, it completely validates my shopping habit when I can pull random things out of my inventory that match so well! Broken

I was hoping to get a lot of blogging done this week, as it’ll be my last chance to get a lot out there before the holidays, but my computer decided on Sunday night that it wanted to go and get itself corrupted and then not work, so I lost basically everything and had to start again, which was very annoying and also means I won’t get as much done as I wanted this week, so sorry about that

Anyyyyway, I got some new stuff to show ya that was released over the last few days! First of all this hair from Truth. A yummy, messy up do that’s just perfect for pictures coz you get to add some wispy bits (creative license, a lot of it was already there but I did add a few just for the hell of it) and it’s also a great fit for the Auxillary hair bow that you can get from The Arcade!

C88 opened their new round on the weekend and I’m so in love with this lace top from Nylon Outfitters. The texturing is really well done and it’s nice to have something new to layer under mesh. It does come with a bra too if you don’t feel like being risque! Also from C88 is the necklace I’m wearing by Maxi Gossamer. The detail and mesh is the usual high standard you’d expect from MG and it comes in both long and short versions as well as in both gold and silver. I love that MG nearly always gives these options coz I have a penchant for long necklaces and it makes me sad face if a necklace I love only comes short.

TDR also kicked off their new TDR Fusion this weekend and there is SO much good stuff available! This belt is from LaGyo and comes in a couple of colours, it’s non rigged mesh so easy to adjust. SLink also put out a fab item – their new Vanity mesh boots. I was wearing them in this pic (which is the reason I’m not wearing mesh jeans, coz I wanted the tucked in look) but I’ll be honest, the picture just looked better cropped so they got cut off. I wanted to mention them though because I’m sure they’ll make appearances here and at only 70L while they’re at TDR Fusion you simply must go and check them out before they’re at full price in the store!

The location I took this picture at was the MadPea Carneval. I’ve never been there before but a friend TP’d me and it was pretty cool so I knew I had to snap something there. I’m sure there’ll be more at some point as well so it’s definitely worth checking out if you wanna play on some rides or take some cool photos.

So that’s me for this hump day, I’m gonna be trying to get a couple more posts done this week but with holidays and all it’s starting to get a bit manic!

Wrapped Up

Just a quick lotd post with some items I found as I was searching through my never ending pit of an inventory and trying to make it into something that resembles order (it’s neater now but everything is just in one folder called -To Blog- instead of actually where they’re meant to be).

So I found this jacket that’s from Purple Moon, they released it a few months back and I have no idea why I didn’t get around to blogging it but it’s pretty damn fab and perfect for this season, so here it is now! The skirt I picked up 2 weeks ago maybe? It’s by Baiastice and I got it at TDR, and although I haven’t gone to check most places do put their event items in their main stores after so you can likely get this there.

I’ve got a couple of new gacha pieces on as well, the hair from BCC and the stole from Pesca. I love both of these and definitely need more hair with hats please anyone who reads this!

Oh and Ugg boots yaaaaaaay! I was looking for some of these a couple of weeks ago when I did this post, then today I was surfing some blogs and found these ones from Redgrave over on Sugar Planner’s blog so I had to buy them, stat!

What A Weekend

The last few days have been eventful with new releases, events and hunts. It’s hard to know where to start, so I decided today that I’d pick one of my favourites from each and put together a look.

First of all I’m wearing the new Amberly skin from Glam Affair. There had been some teasers over the last few weeks for this skin but I’ve got to say it was well worth the wait. It’s one of those skins that not only do I love, but I feel like myself in. This is definitely a new favourite for me and easily has become my new every day skin. I particularly love that Glam Affair always includes a clean version now, since I do like a more fresh faced look most of the time and this gives me exactly that.

The hair I’m wearing is new from Tableau Vivant at The Arcade Gacha event that kicked off on Saturday, you can find all the SLURLS and items available on their Tumblr here. I must admit I didn’t expect to like this hair as much as I do and I certainly didn’t expect that it’d make me wanna go blonde. But I do and it did. It’s rigged mesh and comes in both male and female versions as well as a ton of colours which you can try and collect for just 50Ls a play!

FaMESHed also started a new round on Saturday and this daring dress from Fanatik was one of my favourite items. The mesh is shaped to give perfect curves and the spikes add some sass and come with a HUD so you can change them to either gold or silver.
