Pin Up

There have been so many great new releases the last few days it was hard for me to know where to start. So I mixed a bunch of things up for this post!

First of all these new jeans were released by Tulip. There’s two versions, your regular blue and grey shades as well as coloured versions. I’m wearing the blush shade here and I love them! They’re a great staple item for your SL wardrobe.

The Liason Collaborative started a new round of The Boutique today and I can’t tell you how beyond excited I was to see these Spring Fling sandals from LVLE. They come in several summery shades and are made to fit with the SLink bare mesh feet. I love that more creators are starting to make shoes around them and I hope that it opens up the market to other designers who might have great shoe ideas but don’t want the hassle of making the feet too. Especially now that we have the appliers for the SLink feet, just adding a pair of shoes over them is the perfect solution to all my skin matching woes! Anyway I love these sandals and I’ll defintely be sporting them a lot this spring/summer!

Yesterday Truth released SIX new hair styles for us to spend our Ls on, there are new colour packs available so make sure you grab a demo for those as well! Truth also started a model search competition that will run until the 1st of June. You can read all the rules and info on the prizes here in the competition Flickr group. I love this retro style Sadie hair so I decided to do something of a pin up style entry.

Spring Showers

Look at me, two posts in one day! I needed to make up for my absence so I figured why not.

I love days like this, where it’s warm outside but it starts to rain, I call this “sexy rain” when you can umm, sit, outside on your balcony in your summer clothes and just you know….listen to the rain fall.

Anyway, I mixed up a bunch of new releases for this outfit. The top is actually the new dress from Drift, but I decided to wear it as more of a sweater with the new jeans from Tutti Frutti. I love the soft knit texture on the dress, it’s perfect for spring days, and the cloud texture for the jeans is just that little bit different to make them stand out.

I added the new Isis Solar Magic necklace from Maxi Gossamer that was released at Collabor88 today. I’m absolutely in love with it, the design is so unique and it has lots of colour change options as well as coming in both gold and silver. The umbrella I picked up at C88 too, which was one of Yummy’s offerings for this round. The little neck scarf I’m wearing is from Baiastice and you can find it FaMESHed, it’s a great little accessory that you can mix and match with lots of outfits.

Yes, I’m still wearing the new Scarlet hair from Lelutka that was in my post earlier today coz well, I really like it!

FaMESHed are celebrating their one year anniversary this month and have invited back all the designers who have participated so far! There is a huuuuuge array of goodies available, clothes and accessories for both men and women as well as lots of great decor pieces, so make sure you visit!

I was immediately in love with this new denim jacket that Emery released for the event. I’ve been silently willing someone to make one for a while now and I’m so glad Emery did. There are a few different shades available, I opted for the mid blue, and the quality is fantabulous.

Baiastice also have some great new releases for this round, including this cute dress! It would’ve been so easy to dress this up in a formal way, but I decided I wanted to wear it a bit differently. It comes in both striped or plain, (I say plain, it’s a white top half with a coloured skirt part) patterns and is gonna be great for the spring/summer season. They also released a new cross jewellery set, which comprises of a necklace and matching ring, these are exactly the kinda style I love to wear so I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them and I’m sure they’ll make a few appearances here!

I’d been tempted to wear a pair of scruffy combat type boots with this outfit, which would’ve looked cute too but I decided to go with these SLink heels that I picked up yesterday because I wanted to mention their sale to you. If you didn’t know, SLink are reducing everything by 30% for this week (excluding the mesh hands and feet) which will run until the 5th of May. You can read more details about the why at their official blog.

I picked up these glasses by Sorgo at the latest round of TDR that started on Friday. I love the style of them but I noticed that the lens was darker on the bottom half than it was on the top, which would’ve been fine if it blended into the lighter half, but it didn’t. It just looked like when SL messes up and you get those squares of darker resolution on your pics, right under my eyes. So I fixed that in Photoshop because I didn’t like it.

Don’t Forget!

I don’t usually make a point of blogging sales or reminders about events ending, because frankly there are a lot of people who do this better than I can and there are so many events and things now that I find it kinda stressful trying to keep up! I’m much more of a LOTD, blog what I like, when I like kinda gal but I thought it would be remiss of me not to mention these.

First of all don’t forget to visit the Truth hair sale! Colour packs are reduced to 75Ls, fatpacks to 750Ls and some packs which will be retired are reduced even lower! I’ve pictured a few of my favourite recent styles above.

Also FaMESHed closes tomorrow while they set up for a new round that will open on the 1st of May, so if you haven’t been yet or forgot to pick up something before today is your last opportunity! I’m showing the Penny boots from LaRoo here which definitely have an edge to them. They’re available in lots of colours but best of all if you buy the fatpack you get all those colours in a HUD, so you’re not adding tons of extra items to your inventory!

No More (and My 10 SL Firsts Meme)

I know C88 opened today and really it’s an amazing round but I already had this picture planned since Friday when I picked up this sexy little number from Gizza at Limited Bazar, so that’s what I did!

I have no idea when I’m gonna wear this outfit again except for this picture but I absolutely love it. I didn’t take a close up of my backside so you’ll just have to take my word for it that it looks too bootylicious to be true. The hot pants are mesh with the top being a system layer, and the cuffs and shoulder pads are extra attachments so you can wear with or without.

The head embellishment is by Glam Affair for this months FaMESHed which has a few colours to choose from and the skin is only C88 offering for the moment, which is the Glam Affair Margot skin. Usually GA price their skins for C88 at 188Ls, this one is 288 but there are 6 different make ups available instead of the usual 3 and each comes with a clean version which is a great bonus.

Since I made this picture pretty simple and don’t have tons of things that I’m wearing to write about I thought I’d add Berry’s new meme, My 10 SL Firsts too. Quite enjoying seeing these every Monday and then following people’s answers throughout the week! A lot of this happened 6 years or more ago so I might be a bit sketchy on the deets!

1. First SL Friend A girl called Lynn, I can’t remember exactly where we met but I think she was the one who saved me after I’d walked around help island for 3 days shouting in caps, “CAN SOMEONE HELP ME, HOW DO I GET OUT OF HERE!!!” I still have her on my friends list but she hasn’t logged on in years.

2. First SL Kiss Pretty sure this was a guy called Colt who was my neighbour on my mainland 512m plot.

3. First SLex time/partner/place Same guy as above, a few weeks after being in SL, I think it was on a noob nudest beach LOL can’t believe I just admitted that, now I need to go curl up and die somewhere.

4. First SL Partner/Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Wife/Husband Hmm, I’m gonna say a guy called Apollo for this one. We weren’t official “partners” but he was my RP partner and we were basically a couple there and spent anytime outside of RP together as well. I’d say he was the first guy I liked -in that way- This was almost a year after I’d been in SL.

5. First SL Job Dancer at a club, started doing that about a week into SL and only lasted about 3 weeks actually doing it.

6. First SL Creation A wooden beaded bracelet, I don’t have it anymore

7. First Encounter with a Linden I remember seeing them about a lot more in 2006/2007, although I don’t think I ever spoke to one till last year when I IMd her and asked kinda rudely if I could help her since all I saw was someone nooby standing outside my house, then I realised her name was something Linden and apologised profusely since she was just there dealing with a problem on the sim.

8. First Encounter with a SLebrity. I see “known” people around a lot at events and things but generally I’m way too shy and self concious to talk to anyone I’d consider an SLebrity.

9. First SL Sim you you fell in love with. Definitely Botanical, must have been 2007. I basically jumped into RP pretty quickly in SL and didn’t spend much time outside of the badly built Gorean sims, but Botanical really opened my eyes to how beautiful things could be. This was probably when I fell in love with outdoorsy sims.

10. First SL blog post. Ok, this is embarrassing and I cringe when I look back at it but then I look at where I’m at now and how far I’ve come with my picture taking in little over a year. It was on a blog I first started with a friend in February last year. She didn’t stick at it very long so that was when I went ahead and made this one. Anyway, it’s here!

Take Three (and the SL Pet Peeves Meme)

It took me three shoots to get a picture I was happy with for this post, I’ve been feeling a bit off for a couple of days, I’m pretty sure it was having time off for Easter, kinda lost the roll I was on. I hope it’s back now anyway.

I’m wearing a few new things in this picture. First this loose ponytail that Truth released over the weekend, I love it’s relaxed, natural style. Perfect for the beach! Also the cute, cute new bandeau top from Drift. There are a couple of different styles available, I’m wearing the plain jersey print version, and both come with a colour change HUD so you can switch them up, even the knot is colour change too! I love that Drift is giving this option lately with their releases, it’s really good value for money that you’re getting so many different colours and/or prints with a single purchase. Now I just need some matching bottoms for this top and I’ve got a perfect little bikini! *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Mon Tissu also released their first collection for 2013 this week and these shorts were my favourite. I love the belt detail and the little slits on the front, it really gives them something extra and makes them just that bit different. There are tons of prints and colours to choose from as well.

Finally, the necklace I’m wearing is from Maxi Gossamer at this months round of FaMESHed. I love her boho pieces and this one is no different, beautiful detailing as always, the stone is texture change and the chain comes in both gold and silver.

So Berry started a new meme the other day, it’s basically some of your SL Pet Peeves. Since I enjoyed her others I thought I’d take part again. Do I need to put a disclaimer that these are only peeves of mine, and not to be taken personally? Well I’m gonna, and that was it.

1. Out of date welcome/orientation areas. Last year I spent a fair bit of time hanging out at this kind of place that’s aimed at new residents, trying to help them and offer advice etc. I think a lot of it fell on deaf ears so I pretty much gave up after a few futile months, but mostly what got me was how bad these places looked and the quality of freebies offered. I wondered if I joined SL today and landed in one of them would I stick around? Back in 2006 it was acceptable, but why are they still stuck in 2006 when the rest of SL has made such vast improvements? I always tell my friends that if I ever could afford my own sim I’d make a really nice welcome area for noobs and I’d beg beg beg some good designers to donate a freebie or two. Seriously though, if anyone reading this has the funds to do it and would like to, let me know because I would loooooooove to help!

2. Weird characters/fonts and numbers in names. Ok this is gonna make me sound judgey and I’m sorry but if you have your dob or your age or something after your username, or your display name is full of strange characters/in a weird font, I just can’t take you seriously. I’m not going to be rude or ignore you or anything, but I’m not gonna make a first move in talking to you, and to be brutally honest I’m gonna struggle to make conversation more than a few sentences because all I’ll see are the numbers or some name I can’t make sense of. I do have a couple of friends on my list that use the fonts (just to prove I’m not totally a bitch lol) but I do tease them about it and I think they’re pretty aware that it’s a peeve of mine.

3. Limited groups/tattoo layers/alpha layers. I think this speaks for itself, and yes I know we’re lucky that they’ve already been increased but I’m a woman dammit and I’m never satisfied, I need more!

4. Bad store layouts. If I go to a store and can’t find the item I just saw on Flickr/plurk/a blog within a minute or two then I’m probably going to give up and not buy it at all. I like new releases to be slapped in my face the moment I walk in, I like the store to be sectioned, jewellery over here, bags and shoes here etc etc. I feel exactly the same in RL.

5. TP fails Ever tried to make a dramatic exit and your tp fails? Ohhhh that’s so awkward!! Say you’re in the middle of an argument and you wanna do the SL equivalent of storming out and slamming the door but instead your screen goes black for a second and then you’re back there, just hovering and they’re looking at you, probably laughing at you and you’re like kdjasxmmkdfasnc SL gimme a break!! Even if I’m at some crowded place and I just said bye to everyone and then can’t leave, ugh, I’ve said before that I’m extremely self concious and sometimes when this has happened I want the virtual ground to open up and swallow me whole.

I’ve really enjoyed reading other people’s peeves and agreed with a lot of them, I could really have gone on a rant about things people do that annoy me but I wanted to make it more about SL rather than people so that it didn’t just descend into a bitch fest, coz that’s what my best friends ear is for

Mixed Up

No the title of this post is in no way shape or form referring to me, well ok maybe a little, but mainly it’s because I’m wearing a mash up of items from 50 million different events. Well ok, like three.

First of all this cute T shirt from So Many Styles that you can grab at The Dressing Room Fusion. It’s just a classic, staple item for those days when you want to be casual. Also new (ish) are these hi top style sneakers from LaRoo at FaMESHed. They are unisex and come with a HUD to colour change each part (soles, laces, fabric etc) and there are tons of texture options in there for you to choose from.

I’ve also got a couple of new items available at The Arcade Gacha event. The Polyex Sports Watch from Yummy is such a great retro accessory and I was lucky enough to get the silver rare version on my second go! I’m also wearing the fishing bag that was by Sleepy Eddy for the event. It’s meant for guys I know but with an easy little resize it fits perfectly.

This hair from Truth was out a while ago but I hadn’t gotten round to blogging it yet, I just thought it was perfect for this casual, sassy look!

Anyway, it’s C88 eve and I need to go find a place I can stand around while sort my inventory in preparation!

California Here I Come

Ok so, I think I am officially obsessed with wanting spring to arrive already, so I was really excited yesterday when my friend Jac Mornington showed me his new sim build. It’s called Baja Norte and is based around a Californian beach. Even though Jac has his private home there the sim is open to the public and has rez with auto return switched on, so it’s really great for photo ops! I definitely recommend taking a visit, even if it’s just to sit around the ramshackle ol’ bar and chill for a bit, which is where I was when I took this pic.

Anyway, onto my outfit! So many new releases today what with FaMESHed, TDR and of course, The Arcade starting, that I only really had time to take a quick snap since the rest of the time I was shopping Both the top and shorts are by Emery at FaMESHed and are really perfect for beach hopping. Studded shorts are always a win and the fringe tank is perfect for an extra “something”. The jewellery set it is also a new release at FaMESHed by Maxi Gossamer, who delivered a couple of quality pieces as you’d always expect. This one is called Black Sun, comes complete with necklace, ring and earrings as well as in both gold and silver.

Amazing hair Canto by Lelutka, do I need to mention it? I’m sure you’ve seen it! Harper was wearing it in my last post but of course I had to have it too, who can resist a new Lelutka do?

Fanatik Blogger Search

Hiiii guys! Hope everyone is doing well this weekend!

I’ve been away in RL for a couple of days and I rushed home and jumped on the PC coz I knew I needed to put a look together and make a pic for the Fanatik blogger search. You can read all the deets on how to enter here. Closing date is tomorrow though so be quick!

Anyway, I put it off right till the last minute since Fanatik regularly appear in one of my favourite monthly events, FaMESHed and I wanted to see what new good things they put out, which were these fab mesh leggings. I probably didn’t need more mesh leggings if I’m honest, I have a lot, BUT…I didn’t have any in camel! It’s always nice to have slightly different variations of things too, so they made their way into my inventory while I got the rest of my outfit together.

I paired the leggings up with a new top and cardigan from Baiastice which are absolutely perfect together. The Aida top is of course just like the Aida dress that was released a few months ago, and the cardigan fits right over the mesh so you don’t have to worry about wearing a bunch of random sizes to try and get your layering even without mesh pieces poking through.

Lelutka put out their latest hair collection while I was away, 3 very vintage and very fabulous styles so I snapped one of those up and decided to wear it in a dark red just to add a bit more colour to the whole look. This Gloria style comes with the hairband included that also has a dainty butterfly attachment, this can be removed with a click or you might choose to recolour it to match your accessories.

Also new is this statement necklace from .Olive. and the chain clutch bag by Lazybones, both of which can be found at the new weekly event SL Fashion Week.
