I wore part of this jewellery set yesterday in a post but I love it so much that I thought it deserved a close up too!

It’s called the Isis Solar Magic set, by Maxi Gossamer at C88. The set comes with lots of different length necklaces, so you can mix and match combo’s, for this picture I just decided to wear them all! It includes a matching pair of earrings and you get both the gold and silver versions in the set. Like lots of Maxi jewellery the stones are scripted to colour change, the possibilities are endless!

I’m also wearing Truth’s first mesh clothing, this bustier that you can find at FaMESHed. I’m excited that he’s started to make clothing and hopefully we’ll see more in the future! I topped it off with the new Lelutka Adile hair and switched my skin to Jalwa’s Sonam, for a more exotic look.

Finally my last piece of new is the Vanity eyes from Ikon, they’re so dreamy!

She’s Just A Girl

Happy Monday peoples!

I had a nice relaxing weekend and a great afternoon catching up with all the new things today, so I got a few to show you!

First Lamb released a couple of new hairs, as usual they’re similar with slight variations, which I love because if one doesn’t suit my face shape the other normally does. But one of my favourite things about Lamb hair is their ombre and roots pack. I love the contrast of the light blondes with the really dark roots, this always works well for me coz I prefer to wear skin with dark eyebrows even when I’m wearing light hair and so the roots are a nice touch, to make me look like even more of a bottle blonde

Baiastice had a nice spring/summer release and while this top would look great with shorts on the beach, I decided to match it with the new Villena high waist jeans for more of a rock chick look. The top comes in a few different colours and in either a studs or pinstripe option.

TDR Fusion kicked off a new round on Friday with lots of great, cheap goodies so I’m wearing the new sunglasses I picked up there by Swallow. The fab little owl bracelet I’m wearing is by Erratic and was their FLF item but you can usually still pick these things up in the store after, albeit for a lil bit more dollar. The chunky chains I’m wearing are Glow Studio for C88 and come with matching bracelets too!

Now a bit about the tattoo I’m wearing. As you know it’s been impossible to create single sleeve tats in SL due to the system layer pattern only having one sleeve, so it would always make two identical ones. But with mesh it can be done! I admit I’ve been sceptical about mesh tattoos so far, I bought one once without demoing and I hated it, it didn’t fit at all.

I’m super fussy about any tattoo’s I wear in SL, I never want to wear “heavy” ones, or ones that aren’t feminine enough and this is always a problem if you’re ever trying to buy sleeves. Also I like to have half sleeves since I got my mesh hands, otherwise the tattoo gets faded out with the hands blend layer and it just looks all kinds of wrong. ANYWAY, today I was browsing the marketplace again for tattoos, which I seem to do a lot, when I came across this one by B*Fly. There wasn’t a demo which put me off right away, but it did have a 5 star review so I just thought ok, I’mma do it! Well I wasn’t disappointed. It comes in 5 different sizes, with sleeves for both left and right arm, so you can pick which side you want to wear it. It also has a regular tattoo layer that goes over your shoulder and helps to blend it in. The sizes are -perfect- it fits so snugly against your shape that you wouldn’t even know it was a mesh layer. The only issue I had was that in certain poses when my shoulder was twisted or at a different angle to normal, the mesh kinda disappeared into the top of my shoulder. But it was only a little bit and only in certain poses so definitely not enough to put me off buying more, or being extremely happy with this one.

Anyway, that was much more long winded than I intended to make it so I’ll leave it there for now!

Ok yea, I know it’s only Tuesday but a girl can dream can’t she? After I got so dressed up in not a lot yesterday I wanted to do a more casual look today, which was perfect because Drift just released the weekend tee and capris! I love oversized t shirts and this one with the slipped shoulder reminds me why we’re so much better off with mesh. I remember trying to wear a shirt like that before mesh, system top and prim parts…it just wasn’t happening!

I added the new Minimalist Glasses from Boom that you can find at C88. They’re unisex and come in several different colours. I don’t usually wear glasses but I love these ones and thought they worked with this outfit.

Finally, the little bag on the table is a freebie that you can get on the lucky board at Le Poppycock, I’ve been meaning to use it in a post for a while but hadn’t gotten round to it till today. Anyway it’s cute and modifiable so you can make it bigger or smaller as you like it. Love a freebie!

And She Walked

I was so excited on Friday when there was a notice in the Toki Doki group that Maya was back and had released her first item which is this super cute Haru jacket. I love Maya’s unique designs and textures so I’m looking forward to more releases from her this season. There is also a plain mint version of this jacket available for group members (small joining fee, it was something like 150Ls when I joined – may or may not have increased) and I always recommend this group to people as Toki Doki are usually very generous with group gifts being given often.

I adore this hairstyle from Boon, I’m not quite sure if I’ll actually wear it around but it’s great for pictures and a unique look. The Amande hair piece from LaGyo fits it perfectly too. I’m also wearing this new feather necklace from Sweet Leonard which I looove! It comes with matching earrings and is available in both and silver.

Hiii guys, just thought I’d get a quick Friday post in before I sign off for the weekend!

I’m not gonna lie to you, I totally bought this hair after I saw it on Danni Ravinelli’s blog, Forsaken, a few days ago. She’s one of my favourite bloggers and I always love her style so when I saw this hair do from a store called Pollen I had to check it out. I’d never heard of Pollen until then and when I looked into it in world, I found the creator and that she has a marketplace store for mesh hair here. She only has 2 styles at present and the colour packs are pretty basic, just a brunette, reds, blondes and black and whites, but you get 8 different shades in each. The demo also came with 4 colours options and I found the brunette, red and black texture good but I was not a fan of the blonde. It seemed really quite yellow, although this was only one shade so I don’t know how the others will look since there isn’t a complete colour sample pack. I decided to just stick with brunette since I didn’t want to take a chance just to see if I liked the other blondes better. This is the Giselle style and non rigged mesh so easy to edit. Overall I love this hair style and will definitely be keeping a look out for Pollen’s future releases!

Emery’s latest release hit the grid yesterday and I’m featuring a couple of them. The Carrie sweater and the Samantha bag! I adore both of these and for some reason even more so since they’re named after Sex in the City characters, there was also a Charlotte skirt which is adorable but nothing for poor Miranda

Maitreya brought us their Autumn ankle boots a couple of days ago too with a special colour block pack at a reduced price for VIP group members. This group is FREE to join so I have no idea why you wouldn’t already be in it and you get the set of 3 boots for half the normal price. 500Ls for 3 pairs of Maitreya boots? Yes please! They were also really great colours as well, this beige colour, oxblood and a dark grey which is almost black. Make sure you take advantage of this promo because it’s only on for a limited time!

Remember I mentioned the Erratic 50% off sale yesterday? Well I’m also wearing a couple more items I picked up there too. The shorts and tights are both half price and while I like these shorts a lot and had considered buying them before, I’d decided that I didn’t really need more denim shorts. Well it turned out in fact that I needed 3 more pairs when they were half price.

This ^ and the Maitreya group pack is a classic example for me of how discounts and events with reduced prices boost sales. If it’s cheap or reduced, I’m gonna buy one, maybe 2 or 3 (ok sometimes 4) even if I don’t need it and I’m gonna buy it right then and there, just because it’s cheap. If an item is full price and I’m not gushing in love with it, if I don’t need it right at that moment, if I already have similar items in my inventory or it was more than I’d expect to pay, then it becomes a considered purchase for me and there’s probably a 95% chance that I’m just not going to buy it at all. But something cheap that I don’t need, love and have 5 different versions of already? I’m gonna jump all over that, coz I never know when it’ll come in handy! I’m happy at the end of it because I feel like I got a great bargain and the creator probably ends up with more money from me coz I’ll buy at least 2 colours/versions as opposed to buying one or none at all. Pretty much win/win really.

Life’s A Beach (and the procrastination meme)

There are so many events going on right now, it feels to me almost like there are new ones starting every week. I can’t blog on weekends so when I finally get here early in the week, everything that I bought on a Friday at an event has already been seen 100 billion times. Sometimes I’ll still blog them if I’m inspired to create a different look with them, but sometimes inspiration seems light years away.

I felt like that this week so instead I thought I’d put together a look with dress that I picked up in Leverocci’s sale last week. I’d umm’d and ahh’d over it for a while so when Jin Elfan announced her sale for Leverocci and Belgravia I dashed over. You can find details in that link but basically some stuff will be retired and right now there’s up to 75% off (marketplace excluded). So if like me you’d been admiring something there but hadn’t picked it up yet, now’s your chance!

I added the new over shoulder cardigan from Tram which is adorable, she actually did a version of this for Fifty Linden Friday which I thought I had bought but when I looked in my messy inventory, alas no, I’d only got the demo. Anyway I didn’t mind going back to grab one, there are 3 types available and each comes with a colour change HUD so you can mix and match them with different outfits. I think it’s going to be a great spring/summer accessory so bear with me if it makes more than just this appearance!

I got my little dog in the bag here a while ago, but hadn’t blogged it yet. Best thing about this dog is that it’s FREE! Who doesn’t love free stuff?? It’s animated and comes with a colour change HUD for the bag. I love it and think I’m carry him around for a while. Anyway you can find it here on the marketplace from Tutys.

A place called Club Heck coz that was the first place I got a job at. I think it wasn’t open very long and I was only there around 3 weeks but I made my first proper friend there.

I have a few long time friends that know a lot about me but I don’t talk to them regularly so I’d have to say Harper (Shawneese Offcourse) ofc, she knows all my dirty secrets! ♥

What is the most favorite thing in your inventory? (only pick one)
Why this so hard! I’m trying to be deep and think of something meaningful that I own, but I don’t think I have anything! So at the moment either my Gos Sophia Peeptoes in black, coz I wear them all the time, or my SLink mesh feet, always a winner!

The last thing you purchased in Second Life?
The cardigan from Tram that I’m wearing in this pic.

What color clothing does your avatar wear most often?
Umm lately lots of black but I think that’s a phase, usually it’s shades of beige/creams/tans and other neutrals, coz I’m really boring like that. Sometimes I think I need more colour in my inventory so I’ll buy the next release in something like hot pink and then regret it the moment I put it on because I know I’m probably never gonna wear it.

Do you prefer to walk, run or fly?
I walk mostly because I forget a lot that I can fly, but yanno, flying’s pretty cool.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in SL?
Getting SL married and adopting a kid, it’s not silly crazy I know but it’s something I never thought I’d do and at the time I did wonder if I was going cray, but it was definitely good fun while it lasted.

If you’re a fan of Glam Affair you will no doubt have heard about the photo competition they are currently running for their popular Amberly skin line. There are some great prizes up for grabs which you can find with the rules and how to enter on the Glam Affair blog here. Amberly became my everyday skin as soon as it was released so I couldn’t resist the chance to enter, if nothing else it’s great practice for editing pics!

So while I was tearing my hair out about what to wear for the picture (not literally but can’t lie, I was stressed lol) Maitreya put out some amaaaazebulous (just made that up) pieces. This Dakota dress that I’m wearing also comes in just a top version as well as having lots of different shades and print options. I got a couple of different versions but since I’m loving classic black a lot lately, I went with that.

To accessorize I added the new Isabella earrings which you can find by LaGyo at the March round of Collabor88 that started on Friday and the bracelet from Maxi Gossamer is there too! Both of these pieces are the usual high quality mesh and other matching accessories are available. I finished the look with the Zanzi clutch that House of Fox released for The Arcade Gacha event!

Just a quick post today since I’m short on time, you can tell by how creative I’ve been with my title here!

ANYWAY, I mostly wanted to just show you this pretty new top from The Secret Store! The roses are not just textured but also part of the mesh which gives it a really realistic 3D effect. There’s a few different colours available but today I decided to be pretty in pink and added this cute, relaxed ponytail that Truth released last weekend.

I’m wearing a recent release from Maxi Gossamer as well which is this Forget Me Not Heart necklace. Just in case you didn’t know you can now order Maxi’s jewellery in real life as well! There is more information about it on her blog here and she’s just posted some pictures of the real jewellery after it’s been oxidised and I have to say the results are stunning. I wish all the best to Maxi with this venture and if you love her designs don’t forget to check it out so you can wear them for real!

Hard To Find

It’s been a while since I did a lingerie post, but I was looking at my “to blog” folder and figured I’d take a quick snap as I had this lush new hair from Truth to show off as well as the fancy, strappy sandals from LaRoo and there’s no better way to show of hair and shoes by wearing little else. It also gave me a chance to use a new pose from Le Poppycock’s latest release!

Lingerie is one of those items that I still prefer to wear in texture layers than mesh. There hasn’t been much mesh underwear about yet, but I’m not really convinced with the ones I have seen. This vintage style set is available at Deetalez, the bodice and panties are seperate items and you can buy the tango appliers seperately as well if you sport the mesh tatas.

I probably should invest in lingerie more but since it hardly ever gets seen it’s the emptiest folder in my inventory. Especially with mesh and alpha layers, most of the time I forget to put it on even, which isn’t great when the alpha isn’t as long as you’d think it’ll be. Ever had that awkward moment where someone IMs you and immediately starts talking about how naughty you are? Yea…I used to think it was a joke about guys looking up our skirts in SL, turns out it’s not and they do it more than we realise ladies! So my tip of the day, always have a look up your own skirt before you leave the house!

There was a shoe frenzy this weekend, after Maitreya released the Shiki platforms on Friday, Gos followed up with the Gos Boutique range and 4 amazing designs for us ladies. I seriously felt spoilt for choice but from the new Gos shoes, these Sophia peeptoes are definitely my favourite.

I think most people will agree that matching the skin on any mesh body part to your actual skin is a complete pita. Well not with the new Gos shoes! When you wear the HUD a pop up appears asking if you want to go to the website, I pasted that address to my browser where I was automatically shown logged in. On the website there is just about every popular skin designer you can imagine, plus all the tones pre programmed. I simply clicked Glam Affair, America then the sync button on the HUD and the exact match for that skin appeared! One click and bam, instant match! It really doesn’t come any easier than this and I’ll be crossing my fingers and toes that this will be something other creators pick up on!

Another of Maitreya’s new releases on Friday was this little leather skirt and I added the new mesh shirt and cropped sweater from Coco which is really adorable. Oh and new Truth hair! This lovely Laurie style has a ponytail at the back and some loose bangs that frame your face perfectly.

It wasn’t until I put this outfit on that I realised how skinny my avatar has been getting lately. I tend to just change my body shape (body fat and muscle) depending on the outfit I’m wearing which doesn’t bother me at all. But when I had to slim down my legs again so that I could fit into the XS skirt to layer with the M top was when it really hit me. I think I’ve been slimming down and forgetting to ever go back up again so I’m gonna have to write a note to myself about that! Do you ever change your avie shape just for certain outfits? Or would you rather not buy unless the item fits perfectly?
