Stroll Through Autumn

There were some great new releases over the last few days so I thought I’d put some of them together for my autumn look today.

This mesh sweater from The Secret Store is just about perfect. It comes in a couple of different plain colours or with a pattern as well. I decided to go for plain so that I could mix and match it easier and I think I’m gonna get a lot of wear out of this top this season. It’s an item that you can easily style different, bare legs and boots or leggings or jeans, so many different options. I decided to put it together with the G Field floral leggings/tights because I’ve been admiring them for a while.

I’ve also got on these new mesh boots from Glam Affair. Again this is an item that I’ll wear a lot and they can easily be dressed up or down and, they’re unisex! I can’t wait to see what styles some of the guys can come up with wearing these.

I’ve also got a few accessories on from The Arcade Gacha event and this only has a couple more weeks to run so make sure you get over there and grab them before it’s too late!

Rock on Monday

Hiiiiii, hope you’re all having a good start to the week. I’ve got so much new stuff in this pic for you today, I had a mini shopping frenzy! This look is perfect for anyone who wants to prolong their weekend and head out to a club on Monday, not that we need to worry about what day of the week it is in SL

So I’ll start at the top and work my way down. This new mesh hair from Truth is a perfect modern style, it’s rigged and comes in all the usual colours as well as the roots options, but that’s not all! Oh no, it’s not! Truth now has started to release fades packs! So now you can get that hot, ombre look with their new releases! You know I tend to keep things kind of natural so I didn’t go for one of the coloured fades in this, but this one is called Toast which is a darker brunette at the ends than the rest and I <3 it!

Next the jewellery that I’m wearing. This mesh rock necklace and knuckleduster is from HandVerk and is available at Limited Bizarre. Let me just remind you that Limited Bizarre is opened every other Friday at 12pm SLT and all the items for sale there are LIMITED. So not only are they discounted prices but there are only 100 copies of each item available and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I know personally I try to make time every week to hop over there quick and see it what is around because I’d hate to see something later and not be able to get it.

So on to my clothes! Both the top and skirt are from Emery at the new round of FaMESHed that started today and just like all the latest Emery releases I snapped them up right away. The top is available in black or grey and the skirt has a few different colours to choose from. I first discovered Emery in a brief break from role play a few years ago, (’07 maybe?) and they quickly became one of my top 3 “earth” stores to shop at. I didn’t buy regular clothes for a long time then but since I came back and Emery started to release mesh they have quickly found their way back into my list faves.

Finally these shoes I’m wearing were released on Friday and I absolutely adore them. They’re from Redgrave and are full mesh, including feet. Like most Redgrave recent show releases you can buy them in a pack for 690Ls which includes 12 colour options. This is a fantastic price for mesh feet but I still wish they had kept their 3 colour option which was 300Ls I think? 690 for 12 colours is fantastic, I can’t and won’t argue with that, in some stores you can pay more than that for one colour but personally I just don’t need 12 colours. The other thing about Redgrave shoes is that I find the feet really hard to match to my skin tone. I usually wear the blending layer that comes with the SLink bare feet which makes it seem a bit smoother but something about the seam around the ankle on the Redgrave shoes just never seems right to me. These couple of issues have actually stopped me from buying a couple of the newer Redgrave releases recently, however I loved the style and design of these sandals so much that I couldn’t resist and decided that my little quibbles would just have to be dealt with.

Oh just to add, this little bar scene I set up with an old Art Deco Bar Set from Lisp that was stashed in my inventory. I checked on the marketplace and it’s still for sale in their 10L section.

Monday Morning

I love cardigans. Give me a couple of new cardigans every week and I’ll be the happiest girl on the planet. So when Milk Motion released this classic cardigan for C88 I of course snapped it up. The texture is a little blurry, I don’t know if that was just me or not, I relogged a bunch of times and tried rebaking and refreshing texture etc but it was still the same. This doesn’t put me off loving it though, a nicely styled mesh cardigan will always make my day and this is another one for me to add to my “go to” list.

Another new C88 release is this necklace from Maxi Gossamer. I’ve got a thing about long necklaces lately, this one comes in 3 lengths and right away I put the long version on, but I love that Maxi usually gives a couple of different options for you.

Also, I’m so into this new mesh release from Truth! The casual, wavy style is just yum on toast as far as I’m concerned and this is something I don’t wanna take off for a while.

Finally, if you like this background in the picture then you have to check out the Four Walls hunt! You can find more info on their blog here including all the SLURLs and hints to the stores, but basically it’s a hunt around a bunch of furniture stores and each item costs 10Ls. There’s a bunch of great items on this hunt and this picture was taken in one of my favourites which was the hunt gift from L&K Prefabs. The hunt ends on the 15th of September so only a few more days to get out and grab these items!

Timeless – September C88

C88 time of the month rolled around already and I picked some of my favourites for this look! As usual there was a lot to choose from and my inventory got that little bit fuller with “Timeless” items, which was the theme for this round.

Fashionably Dead released 6 amazing hairs, and this one the “Timeless Hipster” includes the hat so you don’t have to worry about fitting that. I tend to find that’s a problem with a lot of hats in SL unless they’re included in the hair. I usually end up wearing non mesh hair and editing it to jfkdajcça so the hat will fit, but because this is included there’s no need to worry about that!

You can also find these mesh trousers from The Sea Hole, which I adore, as well as this blazer from House of Fox. Both are available in tons of colours and fit right in with the Timeless theme, styles that will never go out.

I also wanted to mention the top I’m wearing from Kyoot. It’s not anything new but as we know it’s a bit of a problem getting mesh to layer, if you want to wear a jacket or something and Kyoot is one of my favourite places to get system layer clothing to wear under mesh.

Mon Tissu Blogger Search Contest

So last week Mon Tissu announced that they were going to hold a competition to find a new blogger. I’m not gonna lie, it kind of felt like I died a little bit when I saw their announcement and my reaction was OMG! Or more accurately, OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

I don’t really enter competitions in general, not just in SL but in my real life too. I’m sure this everything to do with lack of belief in my abilities, and fear of failure etc etc, I don’t need to see a shrink to figure that out. But this opportunity was more than just a competition, it was a challenge as well. Putting a look together that I loved with Mon Tissu pieces and making a good picture was a challenge and I decided that as long as I was proud of whatever I came up with in the end, that was what mattered. Which is why I’m sharing it here as well!

Korundi Mesh Hands

A few days ago I gave a sneak peak on my post of the mesh hands that would be available soon from Korundi, and now they are here! Shansa released these on Friday and they are available on the marketplace at her store here, along with demos.

Real life made me a couple of days late in blogging these and so I won’t go into the entire HUD description because the lovely Harper did a good job of that over at Pixel Pantomime. The HUD is preprogrammed with several skin tones and Miss Shansa did a great job with these because I was fortunate enough that one of them matched perfectly to my skin tone (I’m wearing the Belleza Shyla skin in pale) and of course there are a complete set of instructions on how to use the HUD in the pack. There are 20 different nail options in the HUD, including both french manicures and plain varnish and the hands also come with a tintable glove layer that helps to cover any seams.

The hands should fit any size as they are rigged, so they are rescaled in proportion to the hand size on your shape, however you might need to adjust the fat slider to make sure they fit your arm correctly, but this wasn’t a problem for me.

Since the above picture was obviously edited, I’m including a raw shot here, so that you can see I didn’t use any Photoshop wizardry (hah, jokes I know, as if I’m even capable of it) to make them blend better. I love that I didn’t have to spend hours trying to liquify my fingers to somewhat resemble actual fingers, which is always something that’s been a complete pain for me. This is the same picture as above, just pre edit and the windlight I used was Juicybomb.com Gogo Hearts SL that you can find over at the Juicy blog here.

I also want to mention that Shansa has offered a promo that the first 20 people to buy and rate these hands on the marketplace, will receive a limited edition jewellery set, which includes a set of mesh bracelets and 4 mesh rings, one of which I’m wearing here! So don’t miss out!

Now just one final thing, and I really hate that I have to point this out, especially as these hands have only been on the market for 2 days, but copybotting is a problem in SL as we know. So I want to say that these hands are 100% an original creation from Shansa Resident. Anyone who is NOT Shansa and claims to have created them or offers to sell you a pair “exclusively” for an outrageous (or even free) amount of Ls is nothing but a scammer, and it would be greatly appreciated if you could report any incidences of such to Shansa herself.

I don’t quite know how I ended up with this Barbie look today, I wanted blonde hair since I was working with a black background and this new hair from Truth was perfect so the Barbie Coral look was born.

Chillaxing

I’m chilling today so forgive the lazy picture, but I had some stuff to share so I wanted to do something at least!

First of all I wanted to tell you about a new store called Foppish, which you can find on the marketplace here. They have some cute, mesh items and this fringe top is one of my favourites. It comes in a bunch of different colours with different prints on the front and it’s great for days like today when I just want to sit around in my house in jeans and a tee, but it could so easily be pulled in to other outfits and really give an edge. There were a couple of small issues for me, first of all it’s not textured on the inside which I’m not particularly fussy about but the sizing was a bit off and I found that it sat just a tad high over my body, so that from certain angles the alpha beneath or the invisible inner texture was showing. These things aren’t deal breakers for me when I buy things (unless it’s extreme, which this wasn’t), but it would just be nice if they weren’t there. Since Foppish is a new store I’m sure there will be improvements as more stuff is released, so I’m excited about this brand, it’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

Finally a brief mention about my hands. “Your hands? Are those mesh hands you’re wearing Miss Lacey?” Why yes, they are! This is just a sneak peek of the newest release that will be coming soon from Korundi, and I can tell you, they’re amazing! I always hate the way my system hands turn out in pictures, but these have had no liquify in Photoshop at all and I just love them. Real life has been keeping me busy at weekends lately, but it’s a nice treat to get in world at the start of the week and find some new releases that were out while I was gone.

These boots are the new release from Leverocci and I love them. They’re the kind of thing you could wear with almost any outfit to add instant sexiness and I’m never gonna complain about a bit of help in that department! So these boots were my favourite of the Leverocci releases, but they also introduced a sub brand called Belgravia which you really should check out, they have the most gorgeous mesh fur (relax people, it’s only pixels) coat which I think will find it’s way in to my inventory very shortly.

Anyway I put together the boots with some other pieces that are recent (not new) but that I hadn’t gotten around to blogging yet. I’ve been wearing this mesh tank from Emery to death over the last couple of weeks or so, along with the Melinda mesh necklace from Korundi and I love the leather leggings that Tres Blah released for C88. I resisted buying mesh leather pants until these were released, but then I’m always a sucker for Tres Blah stuff.

The hairband is by LaGyo and you can find it at the latest round of TDR, it’s scripted to colour change like most LaGyo items these days, so easy to pair it up with outfits. Also love this mesh hair from Lamb! The messy, natural look is totally my thing and it’s made a nice change from all the updos I’ve been wearing lately.

I’ll try not to be so slack with my postings again, but look, I did redo the look of my blog yesterday! Hope you like it, I do!
