Pin Up

There have been so many great new releases the last few days it was hard for me to know where to start. So I mixed a bunch of things up for this post!

First of all these new jeans were released by Tulip. There’s two versions, your regular blue and grey shades as well as coloured versions. I’m wearing the blush shade here and I love them! They’re a great staple item for your SL wardrobe.

The Liason Collaborative started a new round of The Boutique today and I can’t tell you how beyond excited I was to see these Spring Fling sandals from LVLE. They come in several summery shades and are made to fit with the SLink bare mesh feet. I love that more creators are starting to make shoes around them and I hope that it opens up the market to other designers who might have great shoe ideas but don’t want the hassle of making the feet too. Especially now that we have the appliers for the SLink feet, just adding a pair of shoes over them is the perfect solution to all my skin matching woes! Anyway I love these sandals and I’ll defintely be sporting them a lot this spring/summer!

Yesterday Truth released SIX new hair styles for us to spend our Ls on, there are new colour packs available so make sure you grab a demo for those as well! Truth also started a model search competition that will run until the 1st of June. You can read all the rules and info on the prizes here in the competition Flickr group. I love this retro style Sadie hair so I decided to do something of a pin up style entry.

How much do I love this new Cindy dress from Gizza, let me count the ways! Seriously, it’s a great little number. The mesh will give you curves to die for and it comes in denim or checked prints. I could probably wear this for the next month quite happily! I won’t though coz yanno, well, yanno.

I took this picture at Editorial Clarity’s Lake House, which he opened for 2 days. This ends tomorrow so make sure you check it out! Editorial is another one of those highly talented decorators in SL, I love following his stream and probably add every picture he takes to my favourites!

If you’re a fan of Glam Affair you will no doubt have heard about the photo competition they are currently running for their popular Amberly skin line. There are some great prizes up for grabs which you can find with the rules and how to enter on the Glam Affair blog here. Amberly became my everyday skin as soon as it was released so I couldn’t resist the chance to enter, if nothing else it’s great practice for editing pics!

So while I was tearing my hair out about what to wear for the picture (not literally but can’t lie, I was stressed lol) Maitreya put out some amaaaazebulous (just made that up) pieces. This Dakota dress that I’m wearing also comes in just a top version as well as having lots of different shades and print options. I got a couple of different versions but since I’m loving classic black a lot lately, I went with that.

To accessorize I added the new Isabella earrings which you can find by LaGyo at the March round of Collabor88 that started on Friday and the bracelet from Maxi Gossamer is there too! Both of these pieces are the usual high quality mesh and other matching accessories are available. I finished the look with the Zanzi clutch that House of Fox released for The Arcade Gacha event!

The Power Dress

The Dressing Room Fusion kicked off with a new round yesterday and today I wanted to show you one of my favourite items that you can grab at a discount and that’s this Mina dress from Milk Motion.

I’ve really loved a couple of Milk Motion’s latest releases and I definitely think they’re one of the upcoming designers. The texturing can be very simple and plain on some of their items but it’s improving and the designs are always fresh and funky. This dress is very cleverly designed in that it’s a mesh and layer hybrid, with the mesh reaching to just under your bust and the shoulder pads as extras. The top part is a regular system layer and guess what that means? It comes with appliers and can be worn with your Lola’s!

I don’t own mesh boobs (I’ve been told that I should…I’m still unconvinced) but since their release they’re pretty unmissable on the feeds and Flickr and lots of designers are now catering for them so there is a much broader range available and you don’t need to just walk around with half your bosom on display.

So although this dress is very simple, that makes it easy to accessorize and the high waist Hurley belt that LaGyo released last week for Collabor88 fits perfectly. I added the LaGyo Starla bracelet that can also be found at TDR Fusion and matches the other items they released for C88.

I’m also wearing this amazing new hair do from Lamb. I really need more Lamb in my life and I wish they released more often, but I can’t have it all so I’ll just snatch it up when I can. One of my favourite things about Lamb hair are the ombre and roots options they have. I know other designers do this as well but the contrast of Lamb’s blondes to the browns looks so realistic. I like being blonde but I always think my face looks odd when I add blonde brows, so with the dark roots from Lamb then I can get away with wearing my dark brows still. I could easily wear a blonde ombre with roots like this all day long.

Soho Boho

I’ve been dressing up pretty fancy in world lately, so today I decided to go back to more a boho style which I always love and was made pretty easy with a lot of the new releases that came out in the last few days.

Truth released this lovely relaxed, mesh style today that really flows and suited the look perfectly. This outfit kinda reminds of something SJP would’ve worn as Carrie in Sex in the City so I decided to go a bit of a dirty blonde today, instead of my normal brunette.

The shoes are the fab new Sparta pumps from LaRoo. These are the first shoes they’ve released that had the open toe and mesh feet, and I’ve got to say that I found the HUD very easy to match up. You can find a pic of the HUD here on their Flickr. Lots of lovely nail options as well as shoe colours available too.

I am so in love with this skirt from Milk Motion. I wasn’t sure when I first saw it at The Dressing Room Fusion last week, but when I tried the demo on it was an instant must have for me. It’s available at TDR Fusion in 3 different colours (green, black and red) and I think it really is very different from most skirts that are available on the grid right now. I’d love to see more in this style.

The off the shoulder cardigan is another great little number that I picked up from TDR, by Ricelli. I love the freedom that mesh has brought us that the designers can now create pieces like this and they fit so easily without all the prim hassle.

I’m wearing Maxi Gossamer’s latest necklace that is out at C88 and the headband available there from The Sea Hole. The head band is a steal at 28Ls so I think I got one in every colour, coz you never know!

I’ve really got my blogging mojo back now after the holidays and I’m just tres excited for more releases and shopping!

HOF Blogger Search

Sooooo House of Fox have announced that they’re looking for bloggers! Since I’ve been loving so many of their latest releases I thought I’d put a little look together for it.

I wore this top in my last post, where I talked about the little black skirt being a staple item. Well this T-shirt from House of Fox is another. Even though it’s mesh I’ve found it pretty easy to layer under other mesh items, which is great for these cooler months when we want to incorporate jackets and coats into our looks.

The leggings were another of HoF’s latest releases for January’s round of FaMESHed. Obviously they’re mesh and come in several different colours, mostly darks which is perfect for me since I don’t wear a lot of brights.

I added a few pieces that I’ve picked up over the last few weeks and not had a chance to blog yet. So this cute mesh hat from Deco, the necklace and earrings set from Glow Studio. I’m terrible at remembering what events I got things from when it’s frequent rounds like Fifty Linden Friday or The Dressing Room (writes yet another note to self: be more organised) but thankfully most designers tend to put the items out in their main stores after.

Little Black Skirt

First of all, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a happy new year! I’ve been really busy over the holidays but I finally got around to my first post of 2013!

January has always been the worst month of the year for me, it seems like pay day can never come quick enough. After the huge blow out I generally have in December, January is my frugal time. After the first couple of weeks of sales, it’s also when you start to see new collections arriving in stores so you can begin to build up a spring wardrobe.

Now if you’re budget savvy like I try to be, then you’ll want to pick up some staple items. Staple items are pieces that you can mix and match to get completely different looks from, as well as getting your money’s worth and wearing them often. So for this post I decided to show you a staple item I picked up recently and 3 different ways to wear it.

Fanatik has quickly risen up my list of favourite stores with their releases over the past couple of months and this micro mini is no exception. I bought it at the Frost event a couple of weeks ago but only got around to blogging it now, however I think since I did buy it, I’ve barely taken it off. It’s available in several colours and with the variety of ways you can dress it up or down, fatpacking would not be a hard decision to make. It’s pretty simple in it’s style, but I love the quality of Fanatik’s mesh and textures and it also has a cute little zip detail on the back which gives it that extra bit of realism. The length was important to me too, I have some other mini’s that were just a tiny bit too long for what I wanted and the market is also flooded with ones that basically put your ass cheeks on display. I wanted something in between and this skirt was it.

I’m wearing a few other new(ish) items as well, that were released over Christmas and New Year. A couple of recent hair styles by Truth, the one with the scarf also includes a colour change hud so it’s great to match with many outfits. I have a thing for hair with attachments like that so this is an easy favourite.

The leather jacket from Erratic on the left is very nicely made and comes with both open and closed options. It’s not the kind of thing that is easy to layer with other mesh tops but most mesh jackets aren’t, which is why I still grab layer tops now and then.

House of Fox had a sale for a few days and I’m sorry that I didn’t get to blog this before because I am wearing several of their items that I picked up there while they were reduced. If you want information on sales and things make sure you check out Seraphim SL as they almost always have the latest info on what’s going on where. Anyway, House of Fox, yea, lots of good things.

Finally LaRoo released these fab Liberty boots for FaMESHed, that I’m wearing on the left a few days ago. Lots of colours available and they come in 3 different sizes, I usually wear a M in mesh clothes but the S in the boots fits me just fine. These are definitely my favourite of LaRoo’s releases and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Also I just wanted to point out there there was -very- little editing on these pictures compared to some of my others, apart from smoothing out some angular edges so everything I’m wearing should look the same in world, although always make sure to demo!

Hopefully I’ll be back to more of a regular blogging schedule now but I’m still visiting family and using a different PC so I’m not sure how fab my pics will be till I get home in a month or so. Anyway, I’m so looking forward to seeing what great items will be brought to us for the new season!

New from LaRoo!

Last week I blogged about the new mesh footwear store LaRoo that would be opening soon. They were due to open on the 7th but some setbacks saw that date delayed, but now, they’re finally open! You can find LaRoo on the Fresco sim, located opposite FaMESHed. I went over and checked it out and it’s a lovely mesh build, great for taking pictures.

LaRoo have 2 new items out for their opening and my favourites are these Clyde boots. They come in lots of different colours and the studs give them that extra something. They’re non rigged mesh so you can resize as needed. The only thing I’d have liked is if they came with both gold and silver studs, since I pretty much always pick gold over silver, but I can’t have it all so I just wore them in gold instead!

I’m also wearing this new mesh top from The Secret Store at C88. It’s so pretty and well made and the gold accents easily make it a new favourite for me. At only 88Ls I’m definitely gonna be going back for 2nds, and 3rds and ok, maybe I’ll just get all the colours!

After Hours

There has been a huge amount of amazing releases the last few days, and more still to come over this weekend. It’s fair to say that my L balance has taken a dramatic hit and will continue to do so for the next week, while my inventory is piling up with things to blog!

I put together a couple of my faves from this round of FaMESHed that started today, as well as this skirt that was recently released from Emery. I have to tell you ladies, this skirt makes your ass look amazing! You have to demo it to believe it! I really like this hair style from Exile and it’s non rigged mesh which is good because I had to resize it and reposition it a fair bit. I play with my shape a lot and tweak it here and there, so that could be why, but it’s rare for me to have problems with mesh hair not fitting well, so make sure you demo this too!

You know what that means! Lots of goodies for 50Ls! I picked up this dress from the FLF round today at House of Fox. It’s partial mesh, so the top is in a system layer and the skirt is mesh so that means layers people! I think I’d actually like to see more of this during autumn and winter because as you know it’s really hard to layer with mesh and I’d love to see some nice dresses that you could wear with cardigans or jackets, like this one.

Also new is this Doce hat from Guardian’s (on the marketplace) which is every bit as sweet as it’s name. It’s mesh but not rigged so you can resize it, which is always needed for hats. It was hard to get hats to fit over non mesh hair and I used to copy the hair, put the hat on and then basically rip the hair to pieces editing it, so that I didn’t have parts poking out here there and everywhere. Obviously you can’t do this with rigged mesh hair, so my tip is to look out for some styles that are kind of “flat”. I don’t mean crap, I mean where the hair around the head is not loaded with volume. If it’s relatively sleek then it’s a piece of cake to wear a hat with, this Rashida hair from Truth is exactly what I mean so the  hat fits really well with it.

Yes I’m wearing the G Field leggings again, can’t help it, I love them! They’re so cute and go perfectly under skirts and dresses.
