New stuff, I <3 it!

If you follow blogs and Flickr looking for the latest releases you would’ve seen sneaky peeks of these new Aelia wedges from Celoe during the week and quite possibly, like I did, waited in anticipation for them to be released. Well, they don’t disappoint. Beautifully created and textured with an easy to use HUD for matching your skin tone, I think they’re just about perfect.

I’m also wearing another Mon Tissu summer release, the Hanalei shorts which are available in loads of summer colours.

Because this is my 2nd post today and it is a Saturday (yea, I really had no better way to spend my weekend =/) I’m not gonna write much more but I have to mention the lace tank I’m wearing from Chemistry. Chemistry doesn’t have many items right now but I’ve just loved every one of her releases lately. They are completely different from anything else on the grid and I love that unique, fresh feel they have. I can’t wait for more!

New Girl

I don’t watch a lot of  TV but there are a few shows that I make time for and New Girl is my favourite “easy watching” series. If you haven’t seen it before then I’d highly recommend it! Zooey Deschanel plays Jess, a kooky elementary school teacher that rocks a lot of polka dots and finds herself living with 3 guys after a break up. It’s so easy to watch and Jess is a pretty off the wall character that always makes me laugh, I just can’t get enough of it.

This Bea hairstyle from Truth always reminded me of Zooey’s character, with it’s bangs and soft curls, so for a long time now I’ve been wanting to put together a “New Girl” look but I just could never find the right dress or outfit that was perfect Jess.

I can’t even tell you the level of my excitement when I saw this new Lacey dress from Mon Tissu, but I’m pretty sure that it was far too much for a woman in her late twenties to be squeeing over the idea of dressing up as a loveable geek, it probably was a bit of a Jess moment! I really, really adore this dress and it comes in a huge variety of colours, so many that I was completely torn. I knew I had to have the navy for the Jess look but I love the others so much that I foresee a large dent in my L balance soon, not that that’s anything new after a Mon Tissu release!

So after a little bit of shopping and shape tweaking, I got what I hope is a pretty good New Girl look and I enjoyed it so much that I think I’ll have to make some time for more.

Meet My Alt

Meet my alt! Her name’s Darcy and she doesn’t really serve any purpose other than to sell some little bits and pieces that I make on the marketplace. I always try my hardest to make my alts look different to main, and I thought I did well at that but I’ve been told by friends that they’d know it was me right away…but look at Darcy, she’s nothing like Coral!

I don’t spend a lot of money dressing alts coz well, they’re alts and they don’t get used. I prefer to clutter up Coral’s inventory instead, but today I realised Darcy had worn the same outfit for about 3 months (don’t judge! it’s not like anyone see’s her!) so I popped over to C88 before it changes next week and picked up the Chantkare Shaggylicious dress which is very cute and perfect for summer.

Every time I get an outfit that’s full of bright colours like this, the only place I want to go and take pics is Tableau. I’d love to have some recommendations of other locations that have the same time of feel as Tableau, so if you know any feel free to share!

For Better or Worse

I’ve always said that one day in SL is like a real life week with the amount of things that can happen or the way things change so dramatically in such a small amount of time. As you know I was away for about 2 weeks, which in SL terms is…well a lot and it almost feels as though my entire SLife was turned upside down in that time.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not adverse to change. When I started this blog I mentioned the way my SL had changed hugely (huge for me anyway) just a couple of months before, that I never would’ve guessed it but it was great and wonderful yadda yadda. Now things are changing again and I don’t quite know how to feel about it.

I feel as though it’s out of my control, even though in the long run it should be better this way, but I still can’t be 100% happy about it. I don’t know whether I should take control and put a stop to it, or just ride without reins and hope that it turns out the way it’s meant to.

I honestly don’t know if it’s for better or worse but I hope this turmoil doesn’t last long.

Mini Catch Up

I’m finally back and when I logged on today I made an effort to catch up on releases I’d missed during my break to real life and well…I just got distracted by this Lily dress from Baiastice that is available at the Fairy Tales event.

So in my mini catch up I got round to Lelutka for the Belle hair, TDR and TDR Blue for fab the ring and handbag I’m wearing.

I put it all together and was quite happpy but something wasn’t exactly right. If you read my previous blog you’ll know that I’m a lover of League skins and in all honestly I haven’t worn any others for over a year now, apart from an odd day here or there, my permanent skin was always from League, but when I put this outfit together I just needed a little something else.

Maybe it’s because I have grown so used to my regular skins wearing casual clothes day in day out, that when I try to glam up a bit I always think I still look very casual and natural, despite any make up layers I add, or updo’s and fancy gowns. So I had another bit of a reccie around my favourite blogs and Flickr and then I found it…this great Lily skin that Belleza released while I was away. It must have a been a sign that it had the same name as the new dress I just fell in love with! As I said before, I didn’t change skins for over a year, I’m always kind of fussy and picky about skins but I tried this demo and knew I had to have it. It has some great lipstick options available in a seperate bundle which are a must have, I just wish the eye make ups came in bundles too, but I guess I can’t have it all!

It’s nice to be back and I can’t wait to get stuck in to some more dressing up and catching up on the latest releases from my favourite virtual world.

Daisy

A little while ago I noticed that I was wearing a lot of blue and white and while I was dressing up for this picture I realised that I’d moved on to yellows. I’m pretty sure this has something to do with the seasons and when I think about it I do tend to do the same in real life, lots more blue, yellow and white in the spring and summer, reminiscent of  a summer sky. Happy colours

So here’s a little outfit I put together that’s exactly that! I love this mesh cardigan by Toki Doki, it’s so comfortable looking and throw-on-able that it’s pretty much a staple inventory item I’d say, in multiple colours of course. I’m wearing the new sunglasses from Mon Tissu which are fab, and this pretty Cynthia hair from Truth.

I just wanted to mention my pose which is by Marukin. I love their poses, really love. If you want a pose that is understated and radiates cuteness then definitely stop by Marukin’s mainstore. They also participate regularly in C88 and the poses available there right now are great.

There Is Always Hope

I’m a girl. Quite a girly girl in fact, but I’m also a football fan and I can even, shock horror, explain the offside rule!

Clearly from the picture above I’m English and there comes a certain amount of heart ache with following the English football team because, well, we never win anything. You also have to be a bit of realist, especially this year because let’s face it, the only way we’re going to win is if lady luck is smiling down on us.

Despite all that, I just can’t help but hope.

So ahead of England’s opening game against France tomorrow in Euro 2012, I just wanted to say good luck and…try not to break my heart too much this year eh boys?

June C88 & Glam Affair

Finally the 8th has arrived! It feels like Christmas every month when C88 opens and I feel like a kid all over again.

This month’s theme was “Shindig” with lots of bright, bold colours, geometric patterns etc. Glam Affair was the guest for this round and I’ve picked a couple of their items to blog. Firstly because I adore this Zoe dress they released and secondly because of their skins.

For a while now I wanted to buy a Glam Affair skin, I know there has been lots of talk about them looking grey or ashen to some people, or the body texture not matching the face and unfortunately (for me) that was how they appeared whenever I tried them on. But I kept seeing wonderful pictures on Flickr and on blogs where the skin looked great and I absolutely adored the faces on the latest releases. I kept getting demos and trying them on and messing with windlight, because I was so irked that they looked ashen to me and yet amazing in these other pictures and I seriously couldn’t believe that was all Photoshop work.

So today I picked up their Mia skin that was released for C88, with 3 different make up types, determined not to be a complete noob and to finally find whichever windlight it was that made the tones and textures look awesome, as I’d seen in other pictures. Well wouldn’t you know I found it! I used the StrawberrySingh.com Orignal windlight, which you can download from her site here and voila! Picture perfect Glam Affair skins! I’ve been doing a little happy dance for the last couple of hours because now I get to enjoy them on myself and not just from afar!

Also loving this funky turban from Yummy at C88, perfect if you’re having a bad hair day. Not that that ever happens to us in SL of course!

As I was editing this picture I couldn’t stop lol-ing to myself, coz I think it’s pretty obvious from any of my previous posts that I’m no kind of rock chick. But it’s Thursday night, I had nothing better to do and you know what they say about idle hands…plus I was feeling particularly uh, mumsy(?) after my last post, so I think I kind of rebelled against myself!

I got this dress from Vanguard at Chic2, it’s not the kind of thing I’d normally wear but I felt like a change and I do like it. It came in a few different colours which were cool, but I have one question. Where were the demo’s? Please anyone correct me if I’m wrong, but I couldn’t find them. Yes I bought this dress without a demo this time, but not having them for mesh clothing is a real turn off to me and does put me off buying things, although as I’ve mentioned before there are a couple of well known stores where I might buy without trying coz I’m 99% certain I’m gonna love it anyway.

I also adore this hair that was released from Truth a few days ago, and figured I’d go crazy and wear pink! I love how I consider wearing pink hair to be “going crazy!” hahaha.

Cool new Dance Off poses from Gliteratti available at Chic2 as well, they were kind of the inspiration for my outfit.
